BBC News - Nicola Sturgeon says lack of contact from Liz Truss 'absurd'

I'm somewhat staggered by this story!

Why on earth would Sturgeon expect Truss to be beating a path to her door?

Love her or hate her, it doesn't change the fact that Truss is having to get to grips with running the country at a time of national and global challenges unseen in most of our lifetimes, so why on earth would she be making time for regional politicians?

I didn't have a great deal of respect for Sturgeon before this, but any I did have is long gone now!

It feels like it's long overdue that we drop the absurd pretence that Scotland and Wales are "countries", and get on with running the actual country as such, with a Civil Service department focused on ensuring the right investments in ALL the regions, without worrying about the politics of it.

Smart move by Truss, with her complete inability to say, "no" to anyone, she would most likely give Scotland independence if she spoke to Sturgeon.
