Our resident news hounds are busy finding stories with which to attack the 'left', but seem to have totally missed this one today for some reason :

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-63147341

tl;dr
Immigration officer and ex Met copper creates a whatsapp channel to share racist jokes with serving police officers.

I wonder what his PH login is?

A couple of cops send racist jokes to each other in private.

News?
In the current climate?

Actual racism, or the Left's definition (anything they disagree with)?

Is he 'the racist right' because he is an ex police officer or because he is racist, as there does not seem to be any reference to his political views in the article...

Not sure why anyone would want to jump straight into a thread like this to defend or excuse racism, but here we are

I think your post just reflects your views and prejudices rather than anything else

To form an opinion of someone’s political affiliation based on any displayed behaviours is questionable to attribute them due to their occupation ( or now it seems former ) is more a reflection on you than them

I’m sure people of all political persuasions can, at times display racist, mysoginistic, sexist or any other form of unacceptable view

The Met reports - Shortly after 12:00hrs on Thursday, 6 October, a man aged in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of offences under the Communications Act and misconduct in a public office. He remains in custody at a south London police station.

People looking to profit from restraining the police, actually being police, similar to the recent shooting reaction

What makes you think he’s from the ‘right’?
Maybe he’s apolitical and just a bit of a dick.

Not sure if it’s news, but it’s certainly not a surprise.

The beeb had it as top story (top story no less!) on their news website for a large part of the day. So they’re pretty sure it’s news.

Seems a crazy bit of editorship to me but I’m sure they know what they’re doing.

In case it needs saying, I don’t think racism is a good thing.

I thought people on the thread about the nurse who made comments about not resuscitating Conservative voters were really concerned about her professional judgement.

But a Home Office immigration official being a bit racist isn't a problem?

This is very confusing.

I think you conflate the nurse openly being vocal about her politics and leanings and displaying prejudice against someone who doesn’t share her viewpoint, in fact actively wishing death upon them and the OP pronouncing the political affiliation of another without any basis

Plenty of people in all walks of life, occupations and political views can display abhorrent behaviour

I don't think I'm conflating anything.

Nurse being vocal about her politics and being offensive to Conservatives = a professional conflict of interest she should be fired.

Home Office official involved in immigration decisions secretly found to be sending racist messages on WhatsApp = this is absolutely fine why is this even news.

Seriously?

But the OP said he’s a racist right winger, what is the basis for that ?

We have a self confessed left winger wishing “death on someone she considers right wing and an unknown border force official being pronounced on here as a racist right winger

There’s a not so subtle difference there

I agree there's nothing in the article that hints at his politics.

Maybe he's a massive leftie.

I wouldn't put money on it but who knows?

Equally who cares it doesn't change that what he's alleged to have done is still completely wrong for someone in that position.

Create a narrative. Why is it important that someone who is no longer a cop shares dodgy messages?

The BBC has a real thing for police officers.

Nobody wished death on anyone. If you have to misrepresent an argument in order to make it sound bad, your position is not as strong as you think it is.
