They have been looking for Keith Bennett’s body for decades but never found him, and Brady refused to give up any information, before dying.
So sad that they were unable to find him before his mother finally passed away. I’m not religious and I know he’s already dead but I’ve always found it very sad that his body has been up on the moors alone all this time.

Sincerely hope they have found him, my mates dad was a young PC at the time and told us all about it when we were young, he spared us some details I expect but it was still pretty grim, and cemented my hatred of those two pretty early on.

Fair play to the team who have located the remains, 58 years later.

My brother and I were born around the time it all came to light and my Father would be very emotional whenever he had to talk about it - I think as a young Father it affected him that any young man or woman could do what they did to children. It was truly horrific if you have ever read any of the details.

GMP statement :

Police investigating suspected remains discovered on the Moors

GMP Force Review Officer Martin Bottomley said: “At around 11.25am on Thursday 29 September 2022, Greater Manchester Police was contacted by the representative of an author who has been researching the murder of Keith Bennett, a victim of Ian Brady and Myra Hindley. Following direct contact with the author, we were informed that he had discovered what he believes are potential human remains in a remote location on the Moors and agreed to meet with officers yesterday afternoon to elaborate on his find and direct us to a site of interest.

“The site was assessed late last night and, this morning, specialist officers have begun initial exploration activity. We are in the very early stages of assessing the information which the author has brought to our attention but have made the decision to act on it in line with a normal response to a report of this kind.

“It is far too early to be certain whether human remains have been discovered and this is expected to take some time.

“We have always said that GMP would act on any significant information which may lead to the recovery of Keith and reunite him with his family. As such, we have informed his brother of the potential development - he does not wish to be contacted at this time and asks that his privacy is respected.”

It would be nice if they could conclude this whilst there's still living relatives & break the last thing Brady has over them.

Seems a bit dubious?

Author who happens to be writing a book on Brady victim happens across a skull on the Moors? What are the chances of that?

I hope that they have found his remains and the remaining family can bring an end to their suffering.

I was a small boy when this was happening and the feeling of fear in the North was palpable. This was a time when murder was rare and murdering small children unheard of.

As a previous poster said, it affected people badly as it was so horrific, even without todays sensationalism, the black and white pictures of these innocent kids was awful. For the officers involved, it was worse. I remember reading one account where they had tape recorded the torture of one of the girls and in the background was playing "the little drummer boy" to this day when I hear that tune it fills me with emotion.

Winnie, his mother bore her misery with typical northern grit until the day she died, still not knowing where he was buried.

Hindley and Brady should have been hung but at least they died without ever getting parole.

From the details it was a lot more than a skull, it was three feet down, and it wasn't just one person involved in the excavation.

Analysing soil samples within the vicinity of the other victims showed potential trace evidence of human remains. So chances not so small, if he indeed was/is buried there.

Investigating the story, lots of research perhaps more time to spend on it than the police have for years. Tries the Nazi symbol burial theory and works out where the 4 arms would be and one area the police have never dug and it's found someone.

I believe he's funded multiple searches/surveys since ~2015.

Lets hope he has it right. Those two can continue to rot in hell and hopefully the remaining family get closure.

Hopefully it is the little lad and he can finally be put to rest with his mum, be really nice to see a proper funeral and burial for him.

So sad that his mum is no longer with us to get closure but fingers crossed his brother can.

As for Brady and hindley I’m not religious but do hope there is a special place in hell reserved for them

Who said anything about a conspiracy? Alan Bennett, Keith's brother, is already dismissing this find and, from the look of it, doesn't think too highly of the author.

Still, I'm sure you'll put him straight.

Okay, what do you find dubious then?
