What makes you say that? He met Putin earlier this week and he’s changed the rules so he can be President for life.

Why would he go?

Seems a bit of a stretch that one.

But in the unlikely 1% chance it’s true, just what the world needs…more instability.

It’s far too late in the night (Beijing time), to check with my FiL now, but I will do in the morning.

They live in Chow Yang in the centre of Beijing and he’s pretty well politically connected out there.

I’ll report back early in the morning.

We are already living in strange times. Interesting if true.

That'd be a surprise.

I suspect the defenses in Taiwan are on alert.

A quick Google brings up reports like this:

No idea of the accuracy.

Just heard back from family over there.

The rumour is that he’s been taken ill, but nothing serious.

We’ve got to be very, very careful about how we word things via the messaging app, speaking vaguely in riddles almost, especially about something as sensitive as this.

Not sure of the normal levels of traffic on a Saturday morning (local) but ADSB is looking quiet over mainland China right now and there are talks of 50%+ of flights cancelled. I'm guessing traffic is normally mostly around the edges of the PRC, but again, not sure of normal levels.

The term 'taken ill' sounds like a euphemism for 'removed', to me.

I bit like how a lot of senior Russians are having gravity related issues at the moment?
