Wondering what’s the point of them this year as the government has been mothballed for most of the year,
Isn’t it time they got to work on the pressing issues of the day instead of self congratulatory social gatherings??

Yes but they are revenue streams for the parties and the local hotels and local business.

Opportunities for the aging MP's to act inappropriately/ borderline unlawfully with young aides who will then make the news headlines in the next 10-15 years with their stories and the circle keeps turning

As a counter view it would be nice to understand what each of them actually stand for at the moment as it isn't that clear.

Lib Dem conference was due to start this weekend in Brighton but has been cancelled. From what I can tell there are no plans to reschedule for later this year.

Hopefully that won’t do too much damage to the local economy. With any luck the Brighton Hilton will be able to fill the two rooms.

Yes - but hopefully the Conservatives will follow the example and see that post the leadership election kerfuffle they actually have to do something useful and lead the country.

Edited to add that Labour don't matter because they aren't the government.

The Tories have just had a 6 week conference fking about to elect Truss. Now Parliament has done fk all due to the Queen dying.

Enough of the navel-gazing. Can the conferences and get the cost of living stuff sorted out. They’re taking the piss now.

Would be good to know what the opposition policies and ambitions are. Slim it down to 1/2 days.

It seems to be sorting itself out do not encourage them to interfere and make things worse.

On the contrary, I really would like to know when my own party will implement it's manifesto and I would really like an explanation for the 1 million visas we issued last year. I won't hold my breath but at least the conference stand is thiers to deficate.

Maybe, but Birmingham coke dealers and wine merchants are going to take a hit.

Inflation down, oil prices down, gas prices said to drop by march with Gov. relief until then, unemployment down... Did I miss anything?

Just the small matter of actually delivering the relief which is now already delayed for businesses.
