Why is this bloke allowed to disrupt many TV outside broadcasts? Whenever there's a significant political event such as today he's there either at the end of Downing St or outside the Houses of Parliament making a nuisance of himself by either shouting down a megaphone or playing very loud music over amplified speakers.

I'm in favour of free speech, but I also think this bloke's a right PITA. Why isn't he arrested for some public order offence?

Because sometimes the first one means you have to put up with the second one.

Exactly. Presumably he is steering clear of actually harassing any individuals which is what gets people into trouble.

The question you should be asking is why do the TV media choose to film in a location knowing that he will be shouting?
(Its not as if the media don't know he's going to be there) wink

That. Although the Benny Hill theme tune was genuinely funny.

They film there because of the plug in points for the cameras.

So you favour free speech in theory, but the moment it's practicised you'd like to silence it.

Free speech must always be allowed, however amplified free speech ? When does this then become a public nuisance, disregarding the message. Yes gathering usually have some person at the front of a crowd using a megaphone toward the audience, very different to amplified general noise.

"When does this then become a public nuisance, disregarding the message."

In the environs of the seat of Government, never.

Maybe you need to ask why he is followed by the Police most of the time and is effectively being harassed indirectly by the Goverment.

He's self employed and also gets money from the public, most recently over £200,000 raised when he had his equipment taken by the Met.

That's "free speech" for you. It means you have to listen to opinions with which you don't agree.

It's terribly annoying.

Get a more powerful speaker system then.
