Nutters in parliament
Discussion
If the media didnt report this stuff in the way that they do we really could just turn the lights off and come back on Monday morning to see how they're getting on.
Curse the internet age.
I recall many years back a chap who climbed up a tower crane in Parliament Square, might have been a F4J thing iirc. If people had just gone about their business he'd have come down pretty quick but what with the media wking themselves into a frenzy he was up there for ages.

How did they get in there? Presumably one can't just wander in; I thought an invite (from your MP, typically) was required. Doesn't say much for Parliament's security.
But yeah, it'd be funny if the lights were switched off and everyone ignored these nutjobs. Won't happen though.
You can just pay to walk around, we've done it. There are bag searches on the way it but its a basic weapons check by a disinterested operator. I'm with the other, add more glue turn off the lights, lock the doors and leave them to it for the weekend. But yeah, it'd be funny if the lights were switched off and everyone ignored these nutjobs. Don't they realise the irony of demanding a citizens' assembly whilst occupying the home of exactly that? A democratically elected parliament IS a citizens' assembly!
Yeah but to be fair, they have a point, the commons when the two parties are throwing insults at each other is a ridiculous disgrace and an embarrassment. motco said:

Their goal is major government disruption over a prolonged period until the government agrees to empower an independent Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice. The can't form a political party, win elections and become the government because they don't have the support to do so from the people so instead intend to blackmail the government into somehow giving them autonomy and power separate to any democratically elected government to do what?
I'm sure the government (red or blue) will just roll over and give into the demands - not.
In 2003 millions of people across the planet protested for their countries not to be dragged into an illegal war by Bush and Blair and they were comprehensively ignored. I'm pretty sure a few grannies and wasters with a tube of glue won't get anywhere.

I am not interested in their cause whatsoever
But seems to be the closest thing to a fully functioning Govt we have right now- and not sure they could do any worse
I think you need to spread your wings and live abroad for a while, it can and is much much worse than the slightly organised shambles we have now. Believe me. You don't even have to leave Europe to find out .But seems to be the closest thing to a fully functioning Govt we have right now- and not sure they could do any worse
