Bad accident this morning by Park Royal on the A40.

Range Rover and Tesla involved, the Range Rover crashed down on to the tracks. One woman killed.

The article mentions that the Tesla was stationary. That's a lot of force to leave the road and smash through the bridge wall.

Happened at 4am too.

Shocking.

Is that a charging station or just for service? Looking at the state of the RR on the daily mail I’m amazed any of the occupants are alive.

black evoque with black wheels, wonder if they where drunk at that time of the morning?

Looks like the Tesla was Charging at the time which would suggest why it was stationary and has been smashed up from the side

Some news reports say that the Tesla was stationary.

I wonder if it was in the live lane as I don't remember any parking areas along there.

Even hit at the speed limit of 40, the Tesla is like a ramp, especially to a big 4x4.

I was only coming back along there yesterday and it was quite chilling and sad to see the police tape, flowers and people standing where the old fella in the wheelchair was stabbed to death near Greenford.

ETA

Big Tesla dealer just before the train tracks but looking at the pics the car is in the car park off the A40.

Evoque doing something silly in the car park? or the 4x4 left the road, over the barriers into the carpark and then through fence onto the tracks.

Why was someone in a parked Tesla in the dealership at 4am?

From the photos it looks like it's gone through the end cabinet in the lower right of this google maps image.

Being a tesla hopefully sentry mode was enabled and they'll be able to watch it all from various angles over and over again

This is near my home, it's a Tesla showroom and charge station forecourt - the google maps will show the distance between the road and the surroundings,

For a car to leave the road where it did, take out a Tesla and a few charge stations where they are, and then reach the boundary and flip over the catch fence to land on the tube line - this car would have to have been going very very fast.

As an aside, I use that road a lot and it's a 40mph average speed jobby.

But you do get the odd car going a hell of a lot faster swerving from lane to lane and I always wonder how they are getting away with it.

This is nearly every time I'm on the A40.

I use it daily as well, there are a lot of turnings off between the cameras, for instance if you were to go to the Tesla showroom, you could go flat out from pretty much Gypsy Corner, and turn off before the next set of cameras.

This car went through the barrier though at a realtively light bend in the road and looks like it's gone head over tails

One assumes that Tesla car park would be completely covered with CCTV, which will hopefully give a full explanation.

From the photo on the BBC website it looks like the RR has straightlined the corner, through a barrier, straight across the Tesla car park and somehow leaped over the fence onto the track. Must have been doing a heck of a speed to do that.

Didn't make the bend, whipped over the railings, nosed into Tesla sitting there, back flipped over into the railway lines.

That would explain front and back smashed in.

I think there's some confusion (Dailymail to be expected) that someone was in the Tesla, whilst in the next paragraph it suggests two women and a man in the RR.

Thanks, and noted, but I won't try it as my car is a lot more unstable than an Evoque at speed.

4am.
Black Range Rover with multiple occupants.
Extremely high speed with no regards for others.

I doubt we'll end up grieving too much for those injured in the RR.

Well the mail seems good at the aftermath pics but as usual the letter page is full of the usual unable to think posters.
Maybe its just one fool with multiple accounts for every story.

Yep.

4am.........must have been stonking it up the hill past Renault (100+) and lost control or fell asleep.....and looks like they just missed to the left of the big sign, and then crashed through the railings above the Tesla car park, and then as you say nose dived into there and summersaulted up through the fence above the station and down onto the tracks........

Sort of this route eek

Says a lot about the crash protection of a RR though that any survived!!
