Knife crime is sadly commonplace in the UK, but this attack is particularly disturbing when clearly the victim is so defenceless....

I'm not surprised by this in the slightest.
I was born about 100 yards from there, and lived in that area for next 50 odd years, but got out 3 years ago, because of a significant deterioration in the area since 2011-12 onwards.

It could be that he was simply mugged or maybe he is the local drug lord supplying kids with cocaine and heroin since 1984.

Who knows. But I am happy to sit back with my popcorn and wait.

Awaiting the Police officers to come along and suggest the victim could be quite strong and put up a fair fight.... Or is that just old blokes in care homes in wheelchairs??

No idea what kind of creature would stab an 80 year old in a scooter, but I hope they are found and punished. And named.

Not just London, I live in fairy rural Wiltshire and my neighbour of about the same age as this victim was attacked by 3 feral pre-teen boys whilst riding his mobility scooter to get the paper.

They got a little bit of a surprise when he got up from it and tried to give chase (he's an ex RAF guy so not shy!) unfortunately though whilst his mind was willing, his flesh wasn't and he went down in the middle of the road like a sack of spuds.

Whilst a couple of passers-by helped him up, have a guess what the wonderful promising footballers did.... yep... hopped on his scooter and tried to nick it.

Some people are just scum.

I would put money on this being either:

A complete random nutter who should be locked up for everyones safety, but he didn't score enough points on the
tick box spreadsheet and some "expert" decided it would be better if he tried to integrate more with the community.
or
An off his face druggie who saw the chap as an easy mugging so he could get his next score, but it all went badly wrong.

Either way they need to be strung up by the short and curlies.

Apparently the Police now have extra patrols in the area to reassure everyone.
If these Police can now be miraculously found why were there not a few more out before it happened.

Shocking really

This was the sixth murder in four days in a London including a man stabbed in Oxford street in the middle of the day

Mass looting in the west end

Gang fights in east London and a number of non fatal shootings and stabbings

Looking like NH Carnival is going to be fun

Because they have been taken off other duties ( which are now not getting done) or had their rest days cancelled, or are being forced to work overtime.
They have not been produced from thin air at no cost.

One of the benefits of all those CCTV cameras.

Fingers crossed that's clear enough.

Unfortunately his defence team (paid for by the tax payer) will argue that he was just out for a jog,
found the knife, realised it was dangerous, so was taking it to the nearest police station when he
was seen on the camera.

I feel sad for Great Britain. It just seems like it is becoming more and more like a third world country every day.
