I have more sympathy for the woman whose house was completely destroyed by the impact and the subsequent fire caused by Heche's drug-induced crash.
When you have addiction problems and huge amounts of money you have the means to indulge your addiction, or to pay for the best of healthcare and rehabilitation.
It's a choice like any other.

Your mental health isn't always a choice.
What’s the boundary between mental health and just making poor choices? Arguably, the person who gets smashed at the pub and drives into a bus queue at 100 mph has mental heath issues.Kill yourself with coke and booze by all means, but don’t inflict it on every else.

I'm inclined to agree. When you have addiction problems and huge amounts of money you have the means to indulge your addiction, or to pay for the best of healthcare and rehabilitation.

If any normal member of the public took drugs and drove at 90mph through a residential zone before fatally crashing, we'd all be saying "play stupid games, win stupid prizes".
I don't see how it should be any different because it's a celeb having a public "woe is me" breakdown.
I'm just glad she didn't kill anyone else with her selfish actions.

The boundary is not for you, or me, to judge. Read up on her life story and you might understand a bit about why she might have had mental health problems.Kill yourself with coke and booze by all means, but don’t inflict it on every else.

She may have had mental health problems but does that excuse her behaviour? Papers full of hyperbole about her but truth is she could easily have maimed or killed other people. It was pure luck that she didn’t.
There'sa difference between excusing and explaining. Nether necessarily justifies, however. dudleybloke said:
It's sad but she was rich enough to get a taxi/uber etc or if she knows she likes a drink then she should have employed a driver.
There was no drink found in her system, drugs, yes. She (incorrectly) thought she was fine to drive, then she hit a garage door with her Mini. People started filming it/her, so in a panic she legged it as fast as she could, knowing the Police turning up would be a nightmare for her, and possibly her career. Fermit said:

So, just because she got rich by playing let's pretend for a living doesn't mean she should get excused for her actions. If this was dave the builder driving drugged up would you be providing excuses for him?
