Surely the PCC should be in charge of police and the fire budget should be kept separate
Ambulance next?
Has anywhere decided to remove the PCC to save money?

This is very much local politicking, due to the dissolution of Cumbria County Council and the 6 local authorities into 2 councils, Westmorland & Furness and Cumberland.

Peter McCall wants to retain a Cumbrian wide police force, so has pulled strings to add the Fire service as well.

Ambulance service is already regionalised to the whole of the North West.
