I think we all know that this absolutely will not be happening.

Option 1. Collect migrants straight from the beach/sea by the military, straight on the bus to RAF Brize Norton, military transport to Rwanda.
Advertise these facts on the beaches of Calais.

Option 2. Put them up in hotels, ask them to report for deportation, allow them to engage HR asylum lawyers on legal aid, finally get them on a plane at Heathrow, allow other passengers to protest & remove them from flight etc.

If only the Lefty Tories had, say, an 60 seat majority & could put a stop to it by the end of the week scratchchin

Another example of our wonderful government saying they will do something (anything) in an attempt to look like they are doing something when the reality is that nothing will happen.

A bit like this

I'm expecting some unforeseen consequences - Rwanda is pretty stable, but it has porous borders with a few less stable nations. Does this mean East and Central Africans can make their way to the UK's Rwandan-based refugee centre and claim asylum in person if they desire it? laugh

Priti’s signing a five year £120 million deal so I presume it is actually going to happen.

Kevin Maguire on Sky, strongly against it. His rational is most of the channel illegals are true refugees and not economic no matter their country. He doesn’t seem to want to listen to any argument on it. Strange bloke.

I don't know what to say.

I’m fine with it. Genuine refugees will be safe whilst economic migrants (and the criminal scum that sell them death trap dinghies etc) will be deterred.

An imperfect solution, but better than the current situation.

It’s a vote winner!

It’ll be a colossal waste of money.

Likely announced to distract from Bojo and give right wingers a reason to keep him in place.

Cannot actually happen yet until the Nationality and Borders Bill becomes law and apparently time is running short for that to become law in this parliamentary session.

Something like this should have been planned as soon as migration by boat became an issue and made a priority. Instead they have dallied and delayed and only announced something when Bojo is in danger of the chop.

It currently costs around £5m a day to house asylum seekers in hotels and the number of boat migrants is forecast to reach record levels in 2022, with up to 60k expected, so it could easily pass £10m a day in 2022. So there are two alternate expensive options here.

Because they just talk and make empty promises Australia got a grip why we can’t god only knows,
It’s mad we are still indulging the economic migrants on the boats from France ,
While making it difficult for people who need sanctuary from war !!

It won’t happen. It is currently against the law and there is no way the bill will make it in to law. The HoL will keep rejecting it, and even if it is forced through it will fail on human rights.

Nice little vote winner for this cesspit of hatred.

Luckily, they'll never legally be able to do it.

Interesting point of view, someone walks into your house uninvited ,what would you think/ do?
Someone 'walks' into the country uninvited, you consider this ok?

You know that is a ridiculous comparison. If you genuinely believe they are the same thing then you lack the knowledge and intellect to even be worth discussing this with.
