More about getting on with various factions than policing.

Or is that policing

It's absolutely an impossible task, but i'm sure there will be a handful of people with an ego big enough to believe they can make the changes being asked for in the article

Almost £300k to say 'oh dear - lessons will be learnt' then leave with a £166k payoff.
Yup I could do that for a bit... I'm not doing well suggesting I be a premiership football manager biggrin

Works out to around £13,800 take home a month

Of course the types of people that will be suitable for this job will most likely already be on 150k so it will be a prestige/ego job.

It looks like an elaborate way to disprove the idea that paying a good salary attracts the right people.

You'd think on all that money the sour faced Dick would have looked a bit happier. She's an utter misery and looks a proper fright in every photo i have ever seen of her.

I thought Neil Basu was a shoe in for the role. Don’t really know him, although he went to same school and lived literarily around the corner. His younger brother was one of our crowd when we used to be out building jumps for our BMX’s and I always got the impression his older brother was okay. We never got hazed by him which was normally the way with older brothers. hehe

About the weekly wage of a top Premiership footballer.

If you pay peanuts you get monkeys.

Alright we'll pay £16m a year and get Wayne Rooney to run the police then?

I thought Chief Constables had come from the Home Office approved list and candidates have to have done the Senior Command course or whatever it's called?

My understanding is that as a child Wayne may have run the Police (A merry little dance)
Well he's from Croxteth, which is the arse end of Miseryside, where most kids are allegedly criminally intent, from.an early age.
