Smollett sentenced

Jussie Smollett has just received a sentence of 150 days in jail and 30 months probation for his fake hate crime. He's also been ordered to pay $120,000 restitution and a $25,000 fine.

Seems like a really daft way of stuffing up his career.

I watched the sentencing live on YouTube.

It hadn't occurred to me before that the two MAGA hat wearing assailants were his friends that he was supposedly mentoring. It's pretty despicable to use and exploit friends like that. They weren't friends they were just star struck devotees that were ripe for exploitation? I guess it could be said he groomed them.

I'd suggest from 36 minutes on when the Judge starts going on about aggravating factors. Before that the Judge is giving him a bking and telling him about what his hoax has done.

I read the potential sentence was 3 years per charge, so 15 years in total.

Suddenly 150 days doesn't seem so bad.
