If you are a pet lover like me you will be shocked at this video, utterly disgusting animal cruelty. As worthy of headline news as much of
the current crop. Sadly I think this may be largely ignored. This is something I cannot tolerate at all, surely many will feel the same. The new animal welfare bill passed in parliament last year should be fully used against this vile individual.

It's vile and he deserves whatever the law can throw at him.

The Met have also apparently said they don't intend to investigate it.

I'm sure that'll go well for them.

Hopefully the RSPCA will get involved.

Big man. Small brain.
If this is how he treats his pets how does he treat his wife and kids….
This should be a Police matter.

If they think its ok to a) do that b) film it and c) then upload it to the internet it makes me wonder what he/they are doing when the camera is not recording!

I spotted it in the Guardian, the man is an utter scum bag - he also had his kid involved. Nice parenting.

I suspect it may well get traction - I bloody hope so.

Two things that make me really sad and/or angry: cruelty to children or animals. Needless to say, that Twitter video has had that effect. For his brother (I think, could be wrong) to post that online is baffling, WTF was he thinking? Do clan Zouma think that's funny?

Then again, it reveals to us all what a nasty bully Zouma is. I hope Karma does its thing!

Surely at some point enough people get tired of paying vast sums to fund these overpaid idiots and the money in football starts to decline? I personally have lost interest in football for this reason.

His career in the UK/playing for France internationally is probably over. He will just go somewhere else and earn similar. Whilst the club loses out on a cheap sale/sacked and no sale cash.

The headline should read donkey kicks cat.
He's a poor footballer and an even poorer human being

Some good might come from this appalling act if they make an example and jail the booter for a week or two, preferably longer.

I don't usually agree with trial by internet/social media, but in this case I can make an exception, it's pretty clear cut the bloke's an obnoxious .

I hope West Ham do the right thing rather than try and sweep it under the carpet.

What an utterly prickish thing to do to a cat, or indeed any animal.

Also, a really good example to set to your kid of how a man should behave.

tt.

Hope he enjoyed his career kicking balls around (and pretending to be hurt on demand), as I fear that it may be over.

As far as I can see, the response from the RSPCA has been rather weak. I want them to prosecute Zouma for animal cruelty, perhaps they will.

Meanwhile, West Ham may wish to deal with Zouma "internally", but there's no chance of that. There's no way the club's sponsors will allow that; they will demand that the club distance themselves from this nasty bully. As will many supporters of whatever team.

I wonder whether Karren Brady (West Ham vice chair) will live up to her "harsh but fair" reputation?

It was only recently that a similar incident was caught on camera of a teacher slapping her horse as it was being difficult.

She was exposed on social media and ultimately I believe lost her job at the school she taught at.

As others have said, what were they thinking posting this (they think it's OK and funny) and what else do they get up to that's not yet been shown.

He needs to be investigated by the RSPCA and police and WHU need to suspend him while that's going on.

There's no way Im watching the video.

If what everyone is saying is correct about it he should get some jail time, I find the mistreatment of animals absolutely abhorrent, hope he loses his job.

Maybe. Michael Vick's career survived an animal cruelty conviction, but the UK and US have some cultural differences so who knows?

I’m an animal lover . . . but . . . we don’t know what else was going on in Zouma’s life at the time (?) - he might be a nasty piece of work who needs the book thrown at him, he might not. I certainly don’t know.

And let’s be really really really careful that we don’t ostracise footballers who have kicked a cat more so than those who have been convicted of, say, rape.

(For what it’s worth, I would generally be in favour of ex-offenders being able to resume gainful employment after conviction, punishment, and rehabilitation).
