So long as it continues to direct traffic to his channel, he'll keep doing what he does and making some beer money from it.

Also here's hoping whatever it was that failed, will lead to Mikey getting better at doing what he does!

"The case was deemed set to fail because it could not prove he was using the mobile phone for interactive communications."

I didn't know this was a thing. Are you allowed to pick up your phone to use sat nav or to change the song on spotify?

Yes, it is/was a loophole, that only "interactive communication" is covered, so the prosecution would need to show that a call/text/chat etc was occuring. It was due to be changed to holding a phone for any use, I'm not sure where the legislation is at though.

Great result. Amazed he hasn't received a beating before now tbh.

Ignore the usual whingers bleating their outrage.

Last year you had to be using it to call or text. This year the rules have changed.

My understanding of this is that mobile companies store and pass data to the police and government agencies regarding mobile data, but the govermenet, understandably, have a policy of not using such data in court for low level offences as it means the public would know more about what tracking of the public goes on.

If this was a Terrorism or high level mobster, the cps would have produced evidence showing that at the time of the video, the mobile had been communicating with the nearby mobile towers and sending packets of data back and forth and other details.

But the defence submitted they would claim to the contrary and its too small to bother with: "Not in the public interest".

At the speed he was going when BellendMikey stuck his oar in (0 MPH) someone would have to walk into his car to injure themselves.

Lampard had a coffee cup in one hand and phone in another. Could he not get charged with something else? Driving without due care or summat.

I'd bet my mortgage on him doing similar when driving at 70 (lol) down the A3, or in a more suburban place where there might be pedestrians about. Obviously it isn;t just fat frank that does this, it's probably over 50% of anyone I see in a car.

He was sat in a traffic jam going nowhere. Maybe guilty technically but not the worst crime out there, be completely different if he was actually driving though.

I ain't a whinger, I don't care one way or another really and I'm not a cyclist either.

I find it really funny that a chap catching people breaking the law and making beer money from it (good beer money too) winds people on here up a treat however!

So for that reason and that reason alone, I hope he carries on and gets bigger and bigger, richer and richer, until he can buy a solid gold house smile

On the face of it, looking at your phone while stationary in traffic sounds like no big deal, but when you do you lose all sense of your surroundings.

So you might glance down while stopped, but if the lights go green and the car behind beeps for you to go, chances are you'll just go, without really being properly aware of what hazards are around you and if it is actually safe to go (either that or stick 2 fingers up at them and tell them to fk off, which is more and more commonplace these days).

Cycling Mikey is a knob, but Lampard was driving a vehicle weighing over two tons whilst pissing about with his phone and holding a hot drink.

He got off because he paid an expensive lawyer.

Great result, very wealthy chap who should know better does something illegal and dangerous but gets off with it, aye, great result that.

Will it be great result if he rolls across a pedestrian crossing whilst distracted ?

big difference between driving whilst using a mobile phone and using a mobile phone whilst stuck in a traffic jam.

i dont condone the former. i dont think there's anything wrong with the latter. lots of people do the same thing whilst waiting at a red light, or in non moving traffic.

He's a moron. A bitter little nobody who hasn't made it, so he takes out his campaign to mask his own complete failure in his career. And then there's Cycling Mikey biggrin

I read it that he got off due to no evidence that he committed any crime.
