House fire in Sutton, 4 kids killed, all very young and reportedly left at home alone.

Been lots of talk this week about SS and st and abusive parenting, is this another example of Mum of the year?

Them poor kids, what a way to go.

Desperately sad and at 7pm, surely could have been saved if an adult was present ?

Seems to be the season for child neglect and abuse.

Hopefully the absent father(s?) will be charged with neglect as well, having four children in her twenties the female was probably at the end of her tether.

I was going to post this last night and remark (pre-arrest) that it was strange that no adults mentioned injured/rescued.

Absolutely heartbreaking to see this happen. Two sets of twins, 27 year old (presumably) mother, not excusing leaving them alone at all but she must have been rushed off her feet 24/7.

Our family have had some experience of needing support for kids recently and ultimately there is very little about, unless you count baby groups via Zoom. No respite at all.

Those poor kids.

Poor mother?

She left 4 toddlers unattended and uncared for. I'm sure it will come out eventually where she went to. I wonder if that will sway opinion.

I don't care where she went, leaving children at home alone is inexcusable.

I agree. I wasn't suggesting she was off doing gods work.

I'm sure she'll be full of excuses and reasons, but as an adult, she is responsible for kids of such a young age. Nothing is a valid excuse IMO, for her being out and leaving them alone.

Not officially being named, but flowers at the scene seem to be 4 boys names?

Agreed. Though you are less likely to be arrested if you do it in Portugal.

Silly comment IMO at this stage. He/they may not even have been aware that she'd gone out & left them alone.

Not all absent fathers are feckless individuals.

Yep, ITV naming them as Kyson, Bryson, Leyton & Logan, all four boys.

Bit worrying some of the thing the grandad has said in his Sun interview.
He suggests the front door caught fire possibly due to Christmas lights on it. Which I reckon is utter horsest, 12v lights won’t make a door burn like that.

Also mum is reported to have arrived back at about 830 to 9, smoking a fag, with neighbours saying she’d been shopping.
So, fire starts at 655 they reckon, mum turns up near 2 hours later claiming she’s been shopping.

Something stinks here. What’s the chances that front door’s been set alight?
