No public hearings into the UK's handling of the coronavirus pandemic until 2023 according to it's chair.
Baroness Hallett to gather evidence throughout this year and would try to deliver recommendations "As soon as possible".
Unsurprising the pandemic is not the big headline since Ukraine was invaded by Russia....

The Ukraine situation has been a good few weeks to 'bury bad news'.
This was always going to be a whitewash, just like every other govt focussed public inquiry.
'Lessons will be learned' and all the other bull, the truth will never be known.

I doubt covid deaths were anything to do with how it was handled ,it’s all the other problems the over reaction caused, the mental health issues, kid’s education, the economic damage, late cancer diagnosis,
And many other things.. as long as they get how damaging and counterproductive lock downs are and make sure they never do them again , some good could come from the enquiry.

Agree it’s a waste of time and money. Nothing will be done with the findings if there are any recommendations at all.

It is presumably taking a little longer as the tins of whitewash are out of stock currently?

Then next time we won't have care home staff visiting multiple homes because of their contracts, we won't send infected patients into care homes to free up beds, we won't ask retired and vulnerable health care staff to come out of retirement and walk into the same room we keep the sick poeople and we'll keep a stock of PPE for such an event even if it does burn a million a year or so.
