Am in constant touch with my family right now, as I'm living in Scotland but keep hearing reports of Leicester getting attacked. So far have heard High Cross damaged and disturbances on Granby Street. Surely big Dave must be considering sending soliders in to sort the job out all over the country?

Have heard that Leics isn't as bad as London, Manchester etc and the Police are doing a fantastic job, last thing I heard was a group of around 100 youths hanging around High Cross. Anyone in Leicester can you please keep us informed with what you're seeing, as naturally I'm worried about my family, thanks.

I have no idea, some things cropping up on Facebook, others just rumours her friends are texting her. Have seen a few fb groups showing disturbances, Jacobs on Granby St having had windows smashed and a building somewhere in the town centre on fire. One fb group has 'confirmed' that Gallowtree Gate is closed from Natwest down to Clock Tower.

Not sure where the Fosse Park rumour has come from, sister has now gone to sleep, but if there's any truth in it them I'm worried, not only is it a bit too close for comfort but dad is currently in the USA on business, sister is heading to aunt and uncles this weekend so mum is going to be left alone for the weekend.

Facebook and text rumours as I suspected, it's good that you are concerned about your sister but don't worry yourself about it, the chances of anything happening to her are so remote it's negligible.

A few windows smashed on Granby St and in Highcross, nothing too major compared to the other cities, although there are lots of false rumours going around. I think there has been a total of about 15 arrested.

Must say that the police held things down really well, and credit to the local communities also for coming together, ready to protect their local areas just in case things did escalate.

Yep, I heard that Leicestershire Police are doing a cracking job keeping things under control, I'm following them on twitter and they're giving plenty of information. My sister is outraged that the yobs attacked Nandos though! Most recent update from Leics Police, a man has been arrested for going round wielding a hammer, and they've said that because people were cycling around to the few disturbances last night that any youths in the city centre on bikes will have the option of being sent away from the centre, or having air let out of the gyres so they can't cycle around to any more disturbances. Spoke to mum and she hasn't noticed anything today, same for grandparents who live very close to the city centre

The Police have been updating facebook and twitter, in a way its quite reassuring to hear things regularly direct from the police, rather than rumours being fabricated here and there. The proactive approach by the Police seems to be working really well, the bicycle tyre idea I think is really good.

Everything seems very peaceful tonight, I can't hear the chopper so I assume there's not much going on.

Latest updates confirm no disturbances, agreed that keeping us in the loop has been great, already had an old mate complaining on Facebook about having his tyres let down, makes me winder what he was up to to get so angry about it
