Well, if we can get the prospect of the death penalty repealed via a web based petition, they aren't going to know what's hit 'em with this one!
Now the recession is starting to ramp up and more people begin to take note of the colossal financial drain that is the EU, I have a feeling the queue of signatories for this one is going to be round the block, and then some. yes

Happy hundredth btw!

Well, their IT failure is a case of 'la, la, la - we're not listening'

There would have been 4 more individual signatures on the E-petition if the damn thing was working.

I will try later.

Calm down everyone. This has been all over the news and so is bound to be heavily over-trafficked today. I'm sure all your votes will count the same if pledged tomorrow.

No great conspiracy here - just underpowered IT systems that are probably fit for purpose 99% of the time.

Personally my thoughts are that the entire project is designed to make the angry and shouty feel like their views are being heard and may only very marginally widen the debates around EU membership/capital punishment/Jediism as a religion but mostly is lip service and political PR.

Still, better than nothing.

Let's not forget that Labour chose to ignore the petition by 1.7m people against road pricing.

Correct, it was jettisoned before the last election. But at the time their response was 'we need to educate the public better'

Because the EU, centrally, really wants road pricing.

If you believe it has been forgotten then you are a mug

Road pricing has merely been delayed and don't think a change of tie colour will stop it either. Europe wants it we are going to get it

Sorry - should have put 'jettisoned' - it was a temporary Labour ploy to drop a vote loser.

call me a cynic. road pricing is suspended until gallileo is up and running. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/chri... forcing every eu car to have galileo gps both justifies its existence, pays for it and taxes you. tossers
