You could not make this up..
Anyway some amusing quotes from reddit:

Isn’t it lucky to have police who are so brilliantly smart, they can’t explain a death, but they can already tell that it isn’t suspicious?
I bet they knew before they even got there.

I bet they knew what they were going to spend the money on before they even received the bribe.

"Well, ah...you see, the exact cause of death has, uh, yet to be determined. We're working on that as we speak. One thing we're not working on though, is that it wasn't suspicious. That we know for sure."

The police don't think so. Therefore, all of my fears and suspicions have simply vanished.

What, just this guy, and the BP guy, and the Tony Blair/WMD guy... who else?
etc ..etc

Where's Columbo when you need him?

.....Damn he's dead to!

This is getting more interesting by the day...what started off with a sneaky peak into somebody's voice mail by a sunday rag, ends up with the chief and assistant of the police quitting and now people getting whacked! Hopefully they will have to silence Brown and Blair before the weeks out.

Seems reasonable to me to not know exactly what killed him but still know that it isn't suspicious. There may well be that about the death scene which makes it an obvious suicide, but until there has been a post mortem examination, they are not in a position to say what killed him.

I bet it's tied in with the moon landings, and Area 51 and the 9/11 conspiracy as well. Maybe even ET...

Seriously though, even if it doesn't look to be suspicious, I would have as many SOC officers as I had around there looking for clues. I really wouldn't want to be the Met officer that dropped the ball on finding out that this guy in particular was murdered.

Of for goodness sake please don't start your speculative piffle on here. The bloke was severely unwell, now he's dead. You can leave your schoolboy detective kit in the cupboard.

It doesn't sound particularly conspiratorial to me.

confused

I 'speculate' that the police statement was reasonable in the circumstances, and you reply like that?

Ah, posted at 23.24. That explains it drunk

I didn't read any indication he was seriously unwell in the article, do you have a link to this info?
Article said he had a drink and drug dependency, had been accidentally injured whilst dissassembling a maquee and had visited his doctor last week but now seemed well.
