Campbell was on the radio saying that Murdoch gave him his break at the Sun before he joined the Mirror. He writes for the Sunday Times as does Jeremy Clarkson and is a close friend of Rebekah Brookes.

I thought so. I don't think EVERBODY who worked for The Sun is a suspect. Indeed, at the time Campbell worked for The Sun, mobile phones hadn't even been invented yet.

He's not my favourite person, but the blunderbus approach to trying to drag everybody and anybody into this mess is a bit tiresome.

Where did they Brown's number from? Campbell started work for News Int Corp when Blair left office. It was Campbell who got Murdoch to back Labour in 1997!

I'm sure Brown gave NI Brown's number. He was in regular contact with the media - as all politicians are.

If you are going to conduct a witch hunt, it is much more effective if you just target the most likely witches.

Campbell may get his comeuppance someday - but I doubt if this particular issue will be it.
