Mods - can you fix the typo in the title. It should, of course, be Castleford.

Not quite seeing how the theft of cable could cause a gas explosion. Pipe, maybe.

Very lucky indeed, don't know how theft of cable could cause a gas leak though.

Perhaps the cable was set near a gas pipe and in some enthusiastic hacking/slashing/cutting of the copper cable, there was collateral damage....

Let's hope he's made to pay for the damage. Just a pity he wasn't there to die in the explosion really, that would at least be a lesson learnt.

I'm sure that would have made the main news if the Murdoch story wasn't dominating everything.

Shocking

Is it wrong for me to hope it's the home of my wife and the bloke she ran off with? (it was empty so no physical injury to them, just lots of headaches)

A second or two just before the explosion, the upstairs curtains begin to wave. That must have been caused by a sudden gust of gas prior to the main bang.

Would have thought that the theft of copper piping was a more likely cause. 'Escaping gas? Not my prob M8'.
