Her resignation statement contains the following sentence:

"This is now detracting attention from all our honest endeavours to fix the problems of the past."

Surely what she meant was either "This is now diverting attention from....." or "This is now detracting from...."

Can I have her job please Mr Murdoch?

Or that.

You'd hope a highly paid (ex)journalist would be able to string a sentence together, wouldn't you?

You're kidding, right?

And anyway, whatever her strong suits were, they weren't neccessarily journalism.

Best looking newspaper editor that I've seen so for.

Presumably the resignation has been carefully negotiated with the powers that be at NI. Golden parachute, I expect.

You are assuming she wrote it. I would suggest otherwise. Lawyers would have had a hand in it. This is a corporate and not a personal act.

What has English got to do with a tabloid.

In case you forgot 'it's the Sun what won it.'

WOT, please.

She was never a trained journalist - she started at Nwes International as a secretary. So maybe she was a trained secretary.

That tosser Piers Morgan *saw her talents* - I wonder what they were?

Why is she allowed to resign and isn't sat in jail right now awaiting trial?

That's understatement along the lines of "John Prescott is just a little overweight".

A better penalty would be to sit her in the sun.

I'd give her a good spanking. Would you lot be happy with that? Send her round to my place and suitable punishment will be meted out. It may take several sessions.
