Am I right in thinking that the end of May, beginning of June 1976 started out unseasonally cold and then the heatwave hit? I was only a nipper and can just about remember the heat and the standpipes.

Back in 1976 and the 'Big Drought', remember all the gushing (pun) about building new reservoirs, this will not happen again and how privatisation of the Water Companies would resolve these problems.
