A 17-year-old Chinese boy has sold one of his kidneys in order to buy an iPhone and iPad, according to local media reports.

The boy, identified only as Xiao Zheng (Little Zheng), is said to have undergone surgery in central Hunan Province in April.
And then the contract will cost him an arm and a leg.

Meaning?
Trouble is this thread could lead us into all sorts of philosophical considerations.
Opinions though, will depend upon anyone's personal philosophy.
Therefore, no absolute answer.

I doubt they would rip out a 7 year olds kidney who wanted a new bike.

If that wasn't the case with most threads, they'd be very short.

Well, I await Apple's PR department's response to this. If I were a journalist I'd demand an interview with Steve Jobs and ask him if he is proud that his products are so in demand and the marketing so good that a Chinese teenager would do this to obtain said products.
As I said above, philosphical questions.

A week after losing my iPhone and having to use a Samsung s8000 or something hideous.

I'm tempted to sell one of my kidneys.

Have to be for a white one of course though.....

Might depend upon how the cultural norms were where any seven year old lives.

You think he should be aiming for advertising that makes his products less desirable? confused
