Well stranger things have happened...would answer the question why a country so in debt would'nt sell whilst the price was sooooo high currently.

Do we need to reach for the tin foil yet?!!

That eutimes site looks like a very serious news site, I don't think. They spoke to Ron Paul! Wow! He's just such a sensible politician.

As opposed to the politician in charge.

All of which begs the question; how many gold foil hats could you make from one bar of bullion?

Works for me, though appears to be from 2009, so I presume pre-paywall.

Actually they would be totally retarded to do so.
Why swap valuable gold for paper!?

Surely much better off to only be obliged to issue more paper.

As the saying goes if you owe someone a little bit of money you are in trouble, you owe them a shed load they are in trouble.
Guess what. The US "owes" a shedload, who is holding the can? The US or the creditor nations!?

Anyway they can repay all their debts easily. Just issue a few $1T notes and dish them out to all the creditors. Job done.

Unless the US dollar loses its reserve currency status, the US will never have any issue in paying its debts.

And that's not likely in the short/medium term - too big to fail give up on

You have to admire the conspiracy industry at times. Take one unproven theory (no gold in Fort Knox) and randomly attach it to another unproven theory (DSK framed) using yet more unproven claims (secret FSB reports) as the glue. Result? A super-conspiracy that'll doubtless become gospel in very short order. Love it!

Which, whilst not on the cards at the minute, could happen.

Remember how much the US bricked it a few years ago when the OPEC nations mentioned that they might start pricing in Euros?

Whilst I am in the camp that is very sceptical of the EU Times being more than a mouth piece for the agenda I, like you Zod, am trained to recognise that there is rarely such a thing as pure coincidence. That another high profile banker has been arrested for a very similar to charge to DSK so soon after is odd. I mean it's not like it happens all the time and then twice in the space of a couple of weeks in the same country?

Don't get me wrong, I believe that the 11th September attacks were the sole work of terrorists using 'planes, that LHO might have been linked at some point to the CIA but was not acting under their orders and that the Queen is really a human and not from planet Zogg. All this, yet I am damn sure that there is more than meets the eye to all of this, even if it is a totally different angle to the one here. To think otherwise is, I venture, naive in the extreme.

Now, wouldn't that have been a silly thing to do!

Re DSK, I suspect you may be right, but I don't believe for a moment that it's connectd to the US gold reserves. If anything, it's a French establishment stitch-up, preying on his well-known bad behaviour with women.

yes

I'm more in that camp myself, mixed in with a bit of NS is easier for US to deal with than DSK would be from the US POV.

Very fishy about the second chap though. Might just be the way the dice fall but as said it's a little like buses isn't it?

As for the OPEC thing, too true. But then would the move to the Euro have shielded them from the worst of what has come and kicked the bottom out of the US?

No, not super secret squirrels or anything.

Zod and I just both happen to do the sort of job that requires us to analyse a large amount of information and spot the bits that have been ‘accidently’ omitted. Likewise you should never take what appears to be coincidence to actually be pure fluke. Having a highly toned BS filter is an imperative.

Im with Zod on this. Think the whole labelling people as 'conspiracy theorist's' makes people think you have to believe that Obama is a lizard and we are all going to be teleported to the planet zorb in 2012!

People like DSK make mistakes, but their friend and colleagues dont repeat them the following week!!! You have to ask yourself, have you also not learned by your friends mistakes? Do you no wince, help them out and then think "Im glad that didnt happen to me?".

It is gone, Orik Goldfinger stole it all in the 1960s. The movie lied, 007 failed to stop him; however, saying so would shame Sean Connery and we can't be having that because he really is James Bond. All straight now?

Ah, you must be in the same line of work as Hedders. I must say, it all sounds terribly complicated.
