Teenagers in Florida are to be banned by law from wearing low-slung jeans that reveal their underwear. Senate bill 228, also known as the "Pull your pants up" bill was overwhelmingly approved by those yanks somewhere.

Yer, make it law that'll stop 'em.

Still, I'd say in about 18 months it'll be the law over here. bounce

Word.

The difference is that the Yanks will enforce that law. We'll just give people warnings (if we can be bothered to do that!).

Yes the land of the free.

I'm sorry I prefer to have the right to dress like a retard.

Indeed. Authoritarianism at its worst - but hey, it doesn't affect middle aged, middle class blokes so we're alright with it. wink

That is crazy, how can they 'demand' that? On what grounds? What next, fat women with crop tops... oh wait.

Yer,
I'd like to see a law where people learn to spell "yeah". "Yer" is country bumpkin slang for "you're" and rhymes with "per" or "fur".

Could we also ban the practice of young men putting their hand down their trousers and apparently holding their crotch in public, it does look slightly perverted!

Perhaps we could introduce something similar, but fairer under English law and with regard to sexual equality. Youths are still allowed to have their trousers halfway down their arses revealing their underwear as long as both sexes do it. That should get the agreement of the middle aged men in the audience. . . . . . wink

Closer inspection at the article revels that the ban only apply to students in class.

The Telegraph] said:
The measure prohibits students from wearing clothing that "exposes their undergarments" or "indecently exposes their body parts" while they are at school.
Nothing wrong with that.

That i do agree with.

Banning plebs people from being alowed to do it in public is too controling. Sure I dislike the sight as much as the next old fart but that really is one step away from banning the mini skirt...

I wonder how many of these 'lawmakers' were around wearing miniskirts, or some other controversial fashion when they were younger? My nan tells me of the shock, and horror at boys wearing their hair long! eek Could you imagine!

Broadening this out a little. People wearing woolly hats indoors or on hot days. WTF is that all about?

I know, how truely awful it must be for them!!! smile

I have no problems with standards being enforced in areas where it is right that they should be, but become very uncomfortable when anyone seeks to try to impose that on people's private life. So long as people are not waving their tackle about in public that's fine, if people want to dress in a way that will make most people think they're a mong, go for it. So long as it's not somewhere where your supposed to be keeping to certain standards - like school!
