So am I.

Huhne is one of those holier-than-thou toads who would have been running witch-hunts, had he been born in a different century.

When the BBC arranged the ambush of Obersturmbannfuhrer Griffin on Question Time, Huhne was there ejaculating his anti-racist piety with the passion of a martyred saint.

It appears that his saintly persona does not extend to basic honesty. He was nicked in the expenses scandal too. For a trouser-press, no less.

His denial came as his former wife Vicky Pryce was asked to comment on rumours that Mr Huhne had asked ‘someone close to him’ to take penalty points on his behalf for a speeding offence.

Miss Pryce told The Mail on Sunday: "I am aware that he pressurised people to take his driving licence penalty points."

And when asked the same question in another interview, she reportedly said: "Oh gosh. Yes, he did. But, look, there is such huge pressure on politicians to be everywhere at once, especially early in their career, so that they are visible – huge pressure – and he does drive a bit like a maniac."

Hmmmm.
