Whether it's an accident or not is irrelevant. I'm just saying hospitals get bombed and kids get killed in conflicts - it's not exactly a rare thing around the world.
Your reply is tantamount to "War crimes happen, so what?"People were expressing their feelings at the images they had seen in the media.

17 dead and 41 injured in Kyiv so far.On the "surely someone will do something" aspect, unfortunately I can't see much happening, purely because nothing much happened after Mariupol and Bucha.
I'd love to be proved wrong, however!
The above graphic is mental though. Did they really fly the missiles over the city to lead folk into a false sense of security then double back and whack them?

Just when you think Russia can't get any lower, they target innocent children with cancer. I will let the photos do the talking but remember the hospital was hit with KH-101 cruise missiles. And if anyone was thinking this is a mistake:
with a maximum speed of 970 km/h (Mach 0.79) while flying 30–70 m above the ground, and hit fixed targets using a pre-downloaded digital map for terrain following and GLONASS/INS for trajectory correction to achieve accuracy of 6–10 meters
This was no mistake, the works needs to see these images and some people wonder why Ukraine will not entertain peace talks with Russia.
Hungarian PM Viktor Orban discusses the Ukraine situation, his meetings with Putin and Zelensky, and his desire to achieve peace:

I see what you are trying to do, as in offer an alternative viewpoint to the issue at hand. However, context is critical here. Just because someone else does something, doesn't make it right or some how diminish it. Swap that to a bank robber - well one person does it, so I guess everyone can?
Yes, war crimes do happen, but the point is to minimize these to the absolute minimum. It is also critical to ensure that there is no collateral damage also. This isnt a gentlemans conflict, its war, but its about being human and not a bloody animal. Russia has done, and continues to do so, some terrible things - and not by accident or error, but by deliberate action. From bombing churches, civilians, shops / stores / supermarkets and hospitals, they have pretty much hit the jackpot when it comes to being the worst here.
Compare them to say Israel, that is your prerogative, but it doesnt diminish what Russia has and continues to do. They are bloody animals.
Sure I agree, they have certainly been barbarous and the fact it happens elsewhere doesn't make it any more right or diminish the consequences of what did happen if one is on the receiving end. Doesn't change that such unpleasantness does happen elsewhere in the world (and not all that rarely either) without seeming to stir up quite the same response from people with little or no ties to those affected though.. It is unfortunately similar to a tactic they’ve been using with missile strikes for months the “double tap”…half an hour or so after the first missile strike a second is sent in to take out the rescuers. airbusA346 said:

Not sure if I'm looking at the correct place on Google Maps, but is the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine next to the hospital? Precision strike the hospital, but then say they were actually targeting the MOI tower.
That's the one, and that's too late Russia initially denied it by saying it was a Ukrainian air defence missile, then had to admit it was their own missiles but that they had hit targets where Ukrainian military were based. Not sure if I'm looking at the correct place on Google Maps, but is the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine next to the hospital? It's Ukraines biggest children's hospital, for reference they also hit a famous clinic for pregnant women in Kyiv.
To give us an idea of how close the strikes were this is a video of the cruise missiles flying overhead and hitting targets in Kyiv (thankfully we can't see the buildings that are hit)

Nobody has suggested otherwise. It's you that keeps talking about rarity, or lack of.Maybe a point better made when somebody actually suggests it's rare, no?
Interesting article on Labour’s stance:
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/07/08/la...
Take away’s from me:
1. They name Russia as enemy #1
2. They commit to support Ukraine
3. They commit to increase defence spending (though no time frame)
Positive messages from the new administration.

What the Kremlin know is there is an election in 3 months and no one in the US wants to be seen as escalating the war. Trump is playing the peace maker card simply to be contrarian. Joe is hoping to wait this out.
This is a bad look for US power regardless of which side of the US politics you sit on as they are giving a guide to any one else what to do. From a Ukrainian perspective the horror of this is obvious, its also a deeper reflection of how married we all are to American politics.
The Philippines, Japan, South Korea and indeed Australia should be looking at this and realising no horror will be the reason for America to lean in and if you always have to ask a politician instead of a General what to do. That is bad because Russia knows it can do this and its showing how much control they have outside of what should be a very simple and clear objective. Strike the planes inside Russia which will stop them using Glide bombs.
America could have said, we won't divulge what arms are being sent to Ukraine and its up to that nation to decide how they are best used to defend itself under the agreed terms of international law.

If today does not bring international condemnation of Russia's actions we live in a sick world.
Whilst I 100% agree with your statement - unfortunately we have politicians that lack courage and only want to poke the bear in the same way they would boil a frogThere are a significant number of common or garden bds around the world, currently representing nations that see some kind of interest in Russian trade or appeasement.
I am encouraged by Labour's swift and decisive take-up of the reins. They have made it very clear which side of the fence the UK is sitting.

They are currently the beneficiaries of an enormous pivot, away from China. A significant example Foxxcon relocating from China to a diverse range of locations, but they have now already halted a $19.5bn semicondutor JV with an Indian firm and I think this is why.
