Modern systems are much smaller, your mobile recieves data from space quie happily while in your house.
Mobile phones receive signals from Global Navigation Satellite Systems in Medium Earth Orbit. They can receive and transmit to communications satellites in Low Earth Orbit (e.g. Starlink and Apple's Emergency SOS).Modern systems are much smaller, your mobile recieves data from space quie happily while in your house.
But these 70m radio telescopes (NASA has 3 globally - Goldstone in the States, Canberra and Madrid) are designed for Deep Space communications. They support moon missions, interplanetary missions to Mars and, in the case of the Voyager probes, even interstellar missions now. RT-70 at Evpatoria has also been used to send messages to any extraterrestrial intelligence that might be out there. And of course, they are used for radio astronomy experiments such as radar detections of planets and asteroids.
The post was a bit misleading to mention RT-70 though. It's a couple of miles south east away from the main space communication basse that Ukraine attacked. This area mostly features smaller antennas, including the original ADU-1000 deep space transmitters, which were superseded by RT-70. The Russians have refurbished parts of the base since 2014 to support their GLONASS and other earth orbit satellites hence a valuable target for Ukraine to take out.

I heard Nokia 5110 is still popular there Modern systems are much smaller, your mobile recieves data from space quie happily while in your house.
Also they will stick with 4G as 5G cannot be installed in Vladolf land. Sanctions might have to do with some of this probably.

It might actually prompt military cooperation between Japan and South Korea that doesn’t have to go via the US.
There are a lot of historical reasons, some within living memory, why the South Koreans don’t really trust the Japanese. Both however are strong allies of the US.
That historic dislike which tbh I’d probably use a rather stronger word Isn’t going to change anytime soon until and unless the japanese leadership has a miraculous change of heart in accepting past wrongs. That’s also something that the chinese who similarly suffered can and will quite easily try to play on Korean grievances. There are a lot of historical reasons, some within living memory, why the South Koreans don’t really trust the Japanese. There was some bad history between Poland and Ukraine, this includes some very recent complaints of persecution of Polish in Ukraine and banning of the language (and this is last 10 years) but when threatened Poland come to the aid of Ukraine although not everyone is so welcoming in Poland.
To be fair there's a fair bit of self interest there. If Russia are rebuilding an Empire they'll be among the next and the next step with be with 20 million expendable conscripted Ukrainians. Edited by BikeBikeBIke on Monday 1st July 08:32
Russian newspapers see Trump as a double edged sword. I think they're right.

Err... that doesn't look like anyone is worried about accuracy.Looks like the Russians are short of artillery.
Do they have plenty of shells and nothing come back the other way?

Just bored on time out of the front line and did it as a little project? I can't believe that is a serious attempt at a weapon. Do they have plenty of shells and nothing come back the other way?
Apostle Dmytro had an interview with a POW from FSO. FSO is a federal security service responsible for protection of high ranked officials including Vladolf. The lad was being used as a taxi driver for Bastrykin. He would be used until early hours like 4am and then the next shift would start not long after. Also they had no weapons when on their own as taxi drivers for officials. The wage was 72k(~£650) roobles a month. In two years had a holiday once. He could leave his work town which was St. Pitersburg. Also he was contracted for 5years. He decided that enough is enough and tried to resign. Pretended to work as self-employed as well as trying weed/grass. Then on a day off he was pulled over by police and FSB happened to be doing a search on his vehicle. They found a kilo of crystal meth underneath. He got 9 years. After 4 months he signed a contract by kind offer from his General from fso. Now he decided to try RDK( rushan volunteer corps).
I don't feel sorry for him, but thought that the story was interesting to share. Most of ex cons were thieves or murderors.

I am really confused here, surely mobile phones can't directly communicate with satellites???
Yes they can, I've used it myself.https://www.apple.com/au/newsroom/2023/05/emergenc...

It's hard to say if its part of a trend or just someone messing about.
I did see in some areas Russias artillery advantage had fallen from 10:1 to 3:1. Whether that will keep dropping to parity i think it might be a case of wait and see.
If you factor in accuracy maybe parity is already there.I did see in some areas Russias artillery advantage had fallen from 10:1 to 3:1. Whether that will keep dropping to parity i think it might be a case of wait and see.
Do the Russians have to fire 3 times more shells than Ukraine to hit the target?
