Imagine being so consumed with anger at migrants...
Your construct. Many people of various political persuasions aren't perpetually offended, including by migrants.bhstewie said:
All these people know how to do is destroy.
And they call themselves patriots.
A false dichotomy (construction / destruction). We could have our own improved brand and be patriots still. Canada does well enough. And they call themselves patriots.
It's not as though the ECHR is some paragon, it's merely sufficiently damp in its decisions to pass the wet test. An ongoing problem rests with its judges, which include in their number academics, civil servants and politicians. Experience as a lawyer, never mind judge? Not necessary.
No thought or consideration for anything or anyone except some weird pre-occupation with destroying things.
I wouldn't trust you to run a bath.

Sorry, some of us have lives.
Do you acknowledge that there is a difference between criticism of immigration policy and criticism of immigrants themselves?
Because one happens, and the other does not.
Labour have somehow managed to be deeply critical of the Tories stance on and delivery of immigration policy without demonising the immigrants themselves. In fact, there's only one party leader who has repeatedly told easily disprovable lies about immigrants (not immigration, but the immigrants themselves) in public.Do you acknowledge that there is a difference between criticism of immigration policy and criticism of immigrants themselves?
Because one happens, and the other does not.

It's actually funny.
Imagine being so consumed with anger at migrants that you'll tear up something that we were the first nation to sign up to and which guarantees people rights on a whim.

Do you believe the gun control laws should be changed in the US?Imagine being so consumed with anger at migrants that you'll tear up something that we were the first nation to sign up to and which guarantees people rights on a whim.

Or...should we just stick to old laws/agreements from different times?
Strange view from a progressive such as yourself...

Why not just come out with it and call him a liar again?
It's really odd behaviour to revel in being caught out lying about something you claim to feel strongly over.PurplePenguin said:

What would those reasons be?
Because you want to do something you currently cannot, that is prohibited or controlled by the EHCR.Hasn't farage said why the uk "needs" to scrap the EHCR?

Personally yes but that's a matter for them and I don't see it changing any time soon.Or...should we just stick to old laws/agreements from different times?

Likewise we've just put Farage and the Conservatives before the electorate and Farage got less than one percent of the seats available and the Conservatives got wiped out.
Doesn't exactly suggest there's a strong appetite for tearing up the ECHR does it.

I will wait for him to tell me what the “something” is as he obviously knows me and my views…

Tiny percentage which is compounding year on year
at the end of March 2024, the number of asylum cases awaiting an initial decision (86,460 cases, relating to 118,329 people) was more than one-third (35%) lower than at the end of March 2023If anything, I'd say it was "reducing".
