He set off with a flat phone, shorts, t shirt, some sort of shoes, cigarettes and a lighter. No hat, food, water. Any money unknown.

Not a recipe for success., self inflicted almost certainly, a tragedy for his family.
You forgot the watch ?
I wonder how the fundraising might have been affected if the allegations regarding theft had been in the public domain from the beginning.
They were, the rolex story came out on the Wednesday he went missing, no substance to it then either.

I thought he admitted stealing it according to his friends

Mark Williams-Thomas might exaggerate his own skills and importance, but I do believe that Jay's friends would have told MWT the truth, and that he repeated it in the video truthfully, therefore the watch story (and Audemars Pigue, not a Rolex) has some substance. One question is whether the Snapchat messages are genuine, I haven't seen details of where they came from and when, although the one of him outside the Airbnb did match the actual place.

Well it was Lucy who started the GFM scam, and she made absolutely no mention of these events, hence why all of the fundraising was secured on a totally false pretence, as originally suspected.

Apparently was on liveleak very briefly before it was taken down, doing the rounds on WhatsApp now

Its a convincing likeness if not him

Eta, considering liveleak is no longer a platform available, I must make the conclusion its fake news

Seen the video, could be him. Was filmed on a potato phone though, so could easily be fake

For balance, the other Tik Toker was offered support but didn’t want/need to accept it.

He looked really well equipped to help with the search wearing his shorts, t-shirt, trainers and man-bag.

Lucy has chipped in with a photo and a few “it’s weird” comments. Probably MVP to get a GFM payout.

Exactly this. You see the people that the police have interviewed, then you hear about a stolen watch and then previous convictions....

and all of a sudden the 'gofundme' doesnt seem so wise.

Just there as self promotion, nothing more!

I wonder how much he actually did.

Maybe an enterprising local can set up a tour business bussing up wannabe influencers for their photo ops.

While the TikTok searcher shouldn’t be in it for the money or for the virtue signalling social media posts. I would have thought Jay Slaters family would want every help they can.

If our TikTok guy is inexperienced then the search coordinator could have put him in a team or group that’s line searching an area. You wouldn’t search alone.

I thought the Gofundme money was to cover the search expenses rather than a family holiday or other conspiracy theories.

I thought the GoFundMe money was to cover the cost of the missing watch.
