2009 Budget - why the delay?
Discussion
It's partly because we had three budgets last year - March, August and November. I think he's just a bit tired making Budget Speeches and fancied a break.
However, it will cause massive admin headaches for those of us who work with tax as we will be well into the new tax year before some of the provisions relating to the tax year will actually be known.
This government does seem to have no regard for practical admin and seems to relish creating chaos at every opportunity.

guess they are trying to spin the budget knowing that if they increase taxes too much no-one will vote for them
No fkers going to vote for them anyway!!If there's one thing I know for sure, it's that there's enough prejudices/stupid/selfish/easily-led people in this country of ours to make yet another term of Labour criminal mis-government a very realistic possibility.
The only chance they have is that anyone with a brain (ie not a Labour voter) will have emigrated to somewhere better (like Iran)

Nope, if they hold out, there will be millions of homeless and the public finances will be almost irrevocably screwed by then.
Agreed, the jobless and homeless numbers are working against Brown if he wants to cling on to June 2010 or whenever. It's week-old news but this is encouraging:
Gordon Brown's hopes of striking a major agreement at his London summit on the world economy have been dealt a major blow
