Apparently it was raining in Scotland today which might have affected the SNP vote.

Ian Duncan Smith may well lose his seat
I think he will go quietly
It’s time for the quiet man (to leave quietly by the back door)!
I think he will resist turning up the volume

People weren't voting Labour because they liked what they saw from them, they just knew they really didn't like what they saw from the Tories.
That’s a pretty impressive skill: to know exactly why 13 million people (give or take) cast their vote.

Seriously, did you even think about how daft that statement looked before you posted it?

How does this compare to 1997? Bit too young to recall that one.

Tories 165 seats (-176)

The irony that the Tories are treating this as a minor victory as the polling was so bad.

Meanwhile the SNP are dying in the corner.

That's my opinion, this is a forum. Look at the increase (or decrease) in the labour vote, apart from Scotland it's tiny. Wales it's gone down. This will be painted as a vindication of Starmer but the numbers show this is more of a rejection of Sunak and his party and a split right.

When Blair won the labour voting swing was much larger

They'll need a bloody big campervan to cart all the bodies away. Luckily for the SNP......

You jest but it has pissed it down intermittently all day, it does discourage those less determined to exercise their franchise.

What's also good is this allows Starmer to tell the SNP to poke it, he doesn't need any help

Is there anywhere with a seat-by-seat exit poll estimate?

(eg. what Jerry Vine is standing in front of)

He’s looking at swings based on the exit polls.

I suspect it won’t play out like that.
