Can't help but think it smells a bit fraudulent / opportunistic.

He's probably playing PS5 somewhere and making a nice little earner.
Nice little earner for her, if he's dead too.

In that case, the longer they don't find a body the better for her.

So his family went to ibiza to do him in rather than just do him locally and dump him on the moors?

Story is lad has gone on holiday to Tenerife, followed his knob and ended up miles from where he should be, left the house thinking he can walk home and has come a cropper.

This is nothing more than a lad getting smashed off his head and making stupid choices.
I agree that's the likely outcome but it won't come as a surprise if it turns out to be some version of what i wrote.

I strongly suspect when this is all over the original story could be a load of rubbish. Given the type of people he appears to associate with and the drug thing it wouldn't surprise me if there's been some retaliation from the macheted blokes mates/family etc. I might be wrong but looking at all the known info there is a better than average chance there's a lot more to this than someone getting lost trying to walk home from a party.

Highly likely.

Followed his nose rather than his nob I imagine.

It's a nothing-burger.
He was at a rave. Surely there were drugs there and he wouldn't need to go off at 3 am with two random blokes to a house an hor away.

There’s a video floating about of him completely off his head at this rave - I expect he’s gone off for some afters and decided to go home afterwards but forgot that it’s a semi arid desert and not rainy Burnley.

Conspiracy theories are funny though

Learning from experience, now. Tying up a lot of police and public resources again, but thats ok, he's just a teenage lad, excuses everything.
I don't think people are excusing anything, more understanding what 19 year olds are like, the same way that a lot of 19 year olds tie up police and public resources by crashing their cars more often then middle aged men on internet forums.

Guaranteed that most people on here did something dumb when they were 19 that could easily have resulted in much more serious consequences, but they got away with it due to chance.
Not on here, this is PistonHeads, home of the Holier than thou dhead!
At a similar age, I drove a carload of mates to walk up Moel Siabod in North Wales, in winter, in the snow, wearing trainers, jeans T shirts and maybe a plastic mac. No other kit, we hadn't even told anyone where we were (we couldn't, we were supposed to be at school).
Cold rather than hot, but just as stupid. Happily everyone came back. Perhaps we were unusually stupid, but I don't think so.

Local news seem to be doing a post about him every hour, none with any new information.
I fear they are going to do the next "Nicola Bulley" and hound his family.

If a young chap were to try their hand at dealing, in one of the locations controlled by some naughty people, the consequences could be dire, and Tenerife certainly has some naughty people.

The GoFundMe is over £23k now. Do people actually know what they're donating for when they go to these pages?

It's apparently a rescue fund but there have been helicopters and drones thrown at the search so i'm not sure lack of funds is an issue.
Over £24k now... Crazy!
£24k goes a long way to setting up a new identity and life somewhere scratchchin

A local saw him around 8am and he asked about the bus, she told him the next one was at 10am, and then saw him later walking quickly.

My guess is he had no real idea how long it takes to walk a distance, and didn't think of hitching a lift etc, maybe just wanted/needed to leave the area?

What so that’s your benchmark of someone having poor organisational ability. Phone battery going flat in the middle of nowhere? laugh
Going ill prepared into the middle of nowhere - no phone, water, indication your destination, sun protection. Seems less than organised to me. Kind of taking part in a gunfight armed with a bananasmile
He'd spent the previous few hours (or more) at a rave. FFS, he's a teenager on a lads holiday, not a special forces soldier going behind enemy lines.

Don't know if Sky are just being really stupid, but they have published the people involved's mobile numbers (in their link to X).

After a night out in Puerto del Carmen, my mates had to drag me back to the beach after I had convinced myself that I could get to Africa on a plastic sunbed.

He's not your average hapless youngster. He's got a previous conviction for attacking someone with a machete.

Sounds like a complete bell end.

The entire trajectory of this story changed early on when it emerged that he is a violent criminal. I don't expect he'll be found alive, either.
