I thinks it’s encouraging that people planning to cross the channel illegally seem to have such an in depth knowledge of the UK political system, the upcoming election and the main parties policies. In fact they seem more switched on than a good proportion of the UK electorate.
I wonder how that happened.

I think Labour has put up advertising on the French side in readiness.

5 weeks ago Rishi announced the election. This coincided with a once in a lifetime downpour of almost biblical proportions. No one could have foreseen that such a high volume of rain would fall.It was unprecedented in recent times.
It gave a symbolic look of a brave man battling against the elements and one which hit a nerve with the electorate.

it's fair to say that things haven't gone brilliantly for the conservative campaign but each new day brings with it possibilities and it's pretty clear that the polls will narrow and it will be a straight fight between a resurgent Labour Party and the Conservatives.

I would argue that you don't need to vote Labour to get a fresh new party. If the Conservatives win it will be a fresh Conservative party as a sizeable chunk of old guard faces are leaving politics to spend time with their families, go into business or start going to the bookies on a regular frequency.

In 2019 the election was known as the Brexit Election.
This may turn out to be The Exit Election for the Conservatives but they will be back.

Something that I suspect applies to a lot of people voting Labour or Reform:

"Labour hasn't won me, the Tories lost me" - a Channel 4 focus group speaking with voters in the constituency represented by the Conservative MP that's currently falling out with the Reform people she's used to promote herself with in her own campaign...

It's people like this Sunak should be removing support from, not just those caught using insider information for gambling.

Yep, that's the argument the Tories have been making for 14 years now.

Let her constituents remove her - it will be a lot more fun on election night!

My goodness, that's a genius point. Why didn't it occur to me before. Yes, I shall now vote Tory next week* for they are all the same, indeed one might say "two cheeks of the same backside", right? Ha ha, what an original quip I just done.

(* I won't, I'm voting LibDem.)

I can't believe what I've had through my door.

Not one word about manifesto just defensive scaremongering.

I might hastened to add he didn't post this himself he had some skivvy doing it.

Yes, those 'personalised' letters are quite the thing. LibDem friend Callum sends me those.

That's desperate, liking the conspiracy theory that Reform are agents for Labour. I think Farage is pretty dubious but I think its save to say he isn't remotely Labour.

Because in the fevered imaginations of the paranoid Tory, there's going to be a "coalition of chaos" between Labour and LibDems. How this is going to happen at the same time as the Labour "supermajority" they also say is going to happen, is a mystery. The remains of the Conservative Party have collectively lost their minds and all logical abilities.

Whereas Ed Davey is in reality more likely going to be the Leader of the Opposition.

They are all as bad as each other is a very lazy and rather lame statement

If labour get in, they won’t be issued with a magic wand, they have many years of mismanagement to sort out.

If the Tories had focused on doing stuff rather than feeding the red meat eaters with Rwanda, criminalising homelessness, shortcutting procurement to line the pockets of their mates etc etc

They wouldn’t be in the mess they are in and they wouldn’t be making a hospital pass to the next government.
