Your phone had never run out of battery? Ignoring the other stuff that’s a stupid post to make.
He was obviously more concerned about how much Columbian marching powder he could hoover up his nose with his new found friends than charging his phone the time he spent with them at their house in the mountains I assume?

This is about right.

I feel for the Spanish police taking unwarranted flak from the family, and for the local population who's tax money is paying for the resource sapping extensive search operation for a negligent dick.

Kidnapped? rofl Get back to your flat roofed pub you absolute waste of space rofl.

What so that’s your benchmark of someone having poor organisational ability. Phone battery going flat in the middle of nowhere? laugh
Going ill prepared into the middle of nowhere - no phone, water, indication your destination, sun protection. Seems less than organised to me. Kind of taking part in a gunfight armed with a bananasmile
He'd spent the previous few hours (or more) at a rave. FFS, he's a teenager on a lads holiday, not a special forces soldier going behind enemy lines.
Learning from experience, now. Tying up a lot of police and public resources again, but thats ok, he's just a teenage lad, excuses everything.

I don't think people are excusing anything, more understanding what 19 year olds are like, the same way that a lot of 19 year olds tie up police and public resources by crashing their cars more often then middle aged men on internet forums.

Guaranteed that most people on here did something dumb when they were 19 that could easily have resulted in much more serious consequences, but they got away with it due to chance.

Funny how these sort of people suddenly stop hating the police and want their help eh.

I'd never realised about his violent past. I must admit that's rather changed my level of concern.

Absolutely braindead. What’s your next trick? Berating bikers for getting the Air Ambulance out? Hikers for getting Mountain rescue out? Michael Mosley for getting lost? rolleyes

Mine went from apathetic to zero. In fact I almost wonder if this is a case of FAFO

I strongly suspect when this is all over the original story could be a load of rubbish. Given the type of people he appears to associate with and the drug thing it wouldn't surprise me if there's been some retaliation from the macheted blokes mates/family etc. I might be wrong but looking at all the known info there is a better than average chance there's a lot more to this than someone getting lost trying to walk home from a party.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be looked for, only that the family should be grateful for the police resource and stfu with their baseless theories and allegations. That is clear in my post, there are no lines to read between.

So his family went to ibiza to do him in rather than just do him locally and dump him on the moors?

Story is lad has gone on holiday to Tenerife, followed his knob and ended up miles from where he should be, left the house thinking he can walk home and has come a cropper.

This is nothing more than a lad getting smashed off his head and making stupid choices.

Highly likely.

Followed his nose rather than his nob I imagine.

It's a nothing-burger.

The GoFundMe is over £23k now. Do people actually know what they're donating for when they go to these pages?

It's apparently a rescue fund but there have been helicopters and drones thrown at the search so i'm not sure lack of funds is an issue.
Over £24k now... Crazy!

Can't help but think it smells a bit fraudulent / opportunistic.

He's probably playing PS5 somewhere and making a nice little earner.

Agreed.

I drill into my kids that they need to be prepared when travelling. Even then my son managed to get stranded after a late night concert, with about 2% battery. At least he was near civilization.
