Oh FFS, didn’t realise he was one as well.

Used to like him as an actor - not anymore!
Who is he ?
Martin Compston, who is from the Sean Connery school of acting; he can only do one character, a ned from Greenock.
Thanks, I recognise him a bit now. As you say a very limited range, usually nasty.
O/T but that's unfair - he was very good in Line of Duty. The issue IMO is when he's himself doing travel programmes with that other bam.

He also starred in Scottish Mussel, one of the worst films with a Scottish tinge in recent memory. Rumour was that Elon Musk funded it to get his twice-married and soon-to-be-divorced-again wife out of his hair for a while.

Briffa in court with their £55M claim against the Scottish govt after the collapse of the DRS.

https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/24395174.biffa...

And around a third of voters are still going to vote for the party that thought putting an ideological activist into govt was a good idea.

We've had about half a dozen from the tories, two just today and one was a 'letter' from Dame Ruthie herself. They've obviously got the hots for Argyll & Bute and are pushing the boat out.
We've had a load of stuff from the Basturd Toaries, plus one each from Labout and LibDem.

The tories are fully playing the "Vote for us as split voting risks letting the SNP in", which it does, and interestingly "Watch out for the Reform candidate - they're an SNP defector"

I think their biggest concern is a low turnout letting the SNP steal the seat from under them.

Also - election comms from the SNP? Nothing. Zero. Zip. Nada. It's like they've gone into witness protection.

Only leaflets I have had are from Ash Regan (Alba party).

Nothing from Conservative or SNP.
I got a letter from Ian Murray (Labour) as I was on his mailing list(previous MP stuff) at the start saying he cant do any official work during the election period. Not had a leaflet from him (Labour) yet.

Nothing at all from the Greens

Had nowt from the Conservatives, which is probably a good thing - it's a two horse race between Liebore and the despised SNP. Had one leaflet from the SNP, but Liebore have gone into full love-bombing mode - a couple of leaflets, and a personally addressed letter from each of SirKeef, Rachel Reeves and Anas Sarwar. I'm (very sadly indeed) voting Labour, as although a thumping WM majority will be dreadful for the UK, I would be utterly delighted to see the back of numerous SNP scumbags. I've already booked a day's holiday on the 5th to sleep off the monumental hangover.

Just by chance I will probably be visiting my mother (and sister) in Gatehouse of Fleet on 4th July, I moved to NZ from England 24 years ago.

They will not be voting SNP or Labour.

Love Gatehouse of Fleet, spent large parts of my childhood there out at 'the big hoose' (Lord and Lady Gilbie's, not ours!, my gran was the housekeeper and my Papa a gamekeeper/handyman!)...Rusco House from memory.

Also, ex 'professional' football player. He made two appearances off the bench for Greenock Morton. To be fair, I did like him in Line of Duty.

Gotta love The National, front page headline of labours manifest and "WE'VE SEEN IT ALL BEFORE"
just as the SNP release their manifesto with how after decades in power they are going to save the (devolved) NHS from Westminister, save the schools and education, save scotland and of course, deliver independence.

Same here. Problem is with Mhanki Black chucking it (the longest MP retiral in known history considering she first announced she was giving up as an MP two elections ago) there's definitely an air that they've resigned themselves to losing the Paisley and Renfrewshire South seat.

The Labour candidate is Johanna Baxter, former Unison head-honcho in Scotland who pretty much single-handedly got the SNP ScotGov to capitulate in the local government pay dispute. Slick campaign and website and has a record of taking on the SNP and winning.

Even The National had to jump to her defence when the cybernats were going after her.

Nickname was "Hollywood"

In other news latest survey has SNP at 15 seats. Though they say Scotland harder to call as unlike England they delayed and botched the census so still relying on 2011 census data. Another SNP success story

I thought they had given up on peddling this guff…does that mean if they don’t get a majority then independence is dead for another “generation”. Apparently Swinney says we can build “a more prosperous country” with independence. If he can tell me how he intends to replace the Barnett cash to stop the NHS collapsing on day one I would be all ears.

Pretty desperate stuff by JS. The SNP have had the majority of Westminster seats in Scotland at the last 3 elections (2015, 2017, and 2019) and it hasn't made any progress towards Indy.

I've said it before, the best and perhaps only way to achieve a consistent, strong, polling majority for independence is to demonstrate competence in government and come up with a detailed economic plan that can be scrutinised by experienced economists. Can you see the problem here?..............

Biffa in court trying to recoup £200m losses after failed DRS scheme. Why is she still a MSP? She should resign or be removed. How do the public start a campaign for her to be sacked, no pay off, no pension, P45 and standing outside the pretendy parliament.

If this had been a private company her Ar$e would not have touched the pavement as she was kicked out

Will they have the brains to request the refuse freighters biffa bought for this should be passed to the government who can give them to local councils as replacement for older ones, naw, silly me
