Like I said there’s that tone running throughout the thread of how dare Williams and Dos Santos have done nothing wrong and how dare they have forced those two poor officers to lie and lose their jobs.
Yeah I think I'll stick with this.

I’d previously taken your “done nothing wrong” to be defined as “not criminally convicted”, a definition I was looking forward to seeing you carry into all the political threads you visit. Quite how ARE we defining “done nothing wrong?

Her conviction today has nothing at all to do with how the Police treated her on that stop.

Maybe, maybe not but it does reveal a lot more about Williams and Dos Santos.

Maida Vale house, Tesla and yet she told the court Dos Santos works as an Amazon delivery driver?

Bianca Williams has been banned from driving today at a Magistrates court in London for various offences including failing to nominate the driver of her car on three occasions to Police in response to S172/NIP

She already had 11 points and was given another 18 points on her licence and banned for 6 months

She now has a total of 29 points on her licence
How is that even possible?! Must be close to a record.

Do you not have an opinion on/after her conviction today?

That's for the other newer thread isnt it? This thread is about met bad apples and Stewie was replying to comments pertaining to that issue and her previous traffic stop.

Maybe it is. I found it curious that ten minutes after the dormant thread had been resurrected, Stewie repeated his oft mentioned view that Williams had “done nothing wrong”. I now understand that was comment on contributions from posters several weeks previously and not with respect to the subject of the post that rebooted the thread only moments before.

The new thread you mention was still fifteen minutes from being created at that time.

In fairness Stewie didn’t seem to have much of an opinion on Ms Williams to share in the new thread either.

She's clearly an idiot and deserves what she got and whilst I don't know what's "normal" for what she did a six month ban sounds very lenient.

It doesn't change how the officers who stopped her partner behaved.

Well, it turns out "didduntdonuffin" was actually quite a lot of something.

29 points. FFS.

We need to get this 2 tier system for traffic offences sorted.

I don't know why people are struggling with this?

All the previous discussion about how the met behaved during the traffic stop with Bianca and dos Santos has nothing to do with this recent convictions for other motoring offences.

Can you even start to make a coherent argument that these nip offences somehow "justified" the police lying and over reaction at an unrelated stop?

I think there is evidence to suggest a two tier system of policing, but it's probably not the one you're thinking of.

Having more than 12 points is rare but can happen.

Whilst the two incidents are not linked directly, it looks pretty clear that her, or her partners driving was likely to attract attention, and the previous stop was likely reasonable, and nothing to do with their race

Of course two of the officers subsequently using the 'I think I can smell Cannabis' line is completely unacceptable and speaks to their personal integrity, or lack of, hence their dismissals

I suppose we should await the outcome of the appeal against the very subjective judgment of the disciplinary panel and the subsequent dismissal

I would not be entirely surprised if it was overturned

Yeah, it’s not an attractive headline, is it? Taking the article as a whole maybe the panel’s conclusion is appropriate. Let’s hope she learns that salutary lesson.

Disappointing to read in 2023 a woman claim she’s not permitted to speak with male members of their partner’s family. Assuming it to be true, of course.
