I would not want to be on that Boeing plane, when he flies back to Australia.

Guess we never will find out what the "thermonuclear device" was.

Good riddance. He will be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his days.

What’s the odds the first thing he asks for is some privacy.

So was he some kind of naïve idealist or a pawn of dark powers or something else entirely?

I think that he was quite naive, enjoyed the limelight, and was used by the Russian state as a useful idiot to "front up" their hacked data and get it published to embarass the West.

He didn't care what information went into the public domain, and more than likely some people died when their identities were compromised because of the data that he unthinkingly released.

The US could have manned up and accepted they committed war crimes too.
Indeed. He's supposedly an insufferable oaf in person but he's done absolutely nothing wrong. Trumped up sexual assault charges appeared at a convenient time and WikiLeaks is definitely a force for good in keeping the USA in check.

I hope he carries on his work and is left in peace he's been through more than enough in his life. It's amazing that people are quick to side with a very corrupt government! We need rebels.

Now the UK Government has cut-off the free board and lodgings he has his hand out expecting a freebie, with a bit of luck he won't have enough fuel to get off the Northern Mariana Islands and has got to stay there.

So what happened to the sexual assault / rape charges? Just went away did they?

I think Assange ran the clock down on them by hiding in Ecuador's embassy.

Will the marriage survive now that he is free? They got together when he was under house arrest I think.

Apparently heading for Australia with the kids. Whether they'll all be pleased to be there is a different question,

Still, a whole lot more fortunate than Chelsea Manning.
