Jonathan Ashworth oot - what a shame …
WOW
That's a genuine surprise. Some of his Labour colleagues will be very upset. I think Lisa Nandy may be one in particular
Independent so presumably weird local gaza effect?

FFS. Cosy slippers pension hoover Pete Wishart retains his seat, and Chris Law returned in Dundee Central by a few hundred votes. Dundee is the SNP heartland and probably their safest seat, so to only scrape that by a handful should be very worrying indeed for the party hierarchy.

In other news hearing that Jim Allister of the TUV is neck and neck with Ian Paisley JR in North Antrim.

Penny Mordaunt out by just under 800 votes
Therese Cofee out

Pennys speech is quite good, decent and warm.

Good - she spent far too much time trying to be PM and nowhere near enough time doing the job of being a minister, or even getting a big ministry.

I’m off to buy a new TV. Kay Burley finally pushed me over the edge and a Balvenie bottle ended up in the middle of my flat screen. It was a half full 18 year old too, bloody waste.

Blackpool North goes to Labour
A genuine shame he was a decent constituency MP. Helped a couple of people we knew.

Streeting is back in by 500 votes. Massive swing from Labour and to Gaza in some of their historically iron seats. Will we see an Islamic party?

Amazed the Tories have lost their Lichfield seat, fabricant has held that seat for as long as I can remember.

Tiny numbers in it though, lost out by 800 votes.

Rishi back by a mile. Concedes
I think he will resign by noon tomorrow as Leader of the Tories
I think Rishi Sunak has done the right thing by calling it now
Jeremy Hunt looks and sounds shattered and broken

My Portillo bingo sheet doesn't have many crossed off. Beyond Mercer, Coffey, Mordant, not many close cabinet ministers have lost their seats.

It shouldn't need to be complimented but Rishi sets an example to the muppets in America by accepting defeat.

Come to Scotland, the SNP have lost dozens of MPs. Some big names gone. It's delightful.

Highlights for me are John Nicolson and Alyn Smith - two egos so colossal that they generate their own gravity.

SNP have certainly taken a beating. 31 lost seats!
