Dear me. Free speech means just that. Free. From consequences. It. Doesn’t. Exist.

Your use of the words woke and illiberal tell us what you actually want.

By the way. Musk ain’t the free speech supporter when it doesn’t suit him:

No Gweeds, you are failing to grasp a very simple concept. There not much hope for you I’m afraid.

The fact that the woke, illiberal lefties and perpetually offended brigade don’t like Musks takeover of their pet communication platform certainly makes me happy.

This has got to be a good thing !
Woke and illiberal. That's quite the mix.
Not at all, the woke are the most illiberal group of people on the planet right now. They shout their views and cancel anyone who dares have a different perspective.
Absolutely. They have been regressive, rather than progressive for years now. It's just a facade for their authoritarian mentality.

You honestly don’t know what woke and illiberal mean? Ok buddy!
And the university are free to ignore them.

And I do, But I'm not the one waving them around as an insult. So, tell us what you think they mean.

So you want to stop people saying “we don’t want your message on our stage”?
Yes! Those people that don’t want to hear it don’t have to attend do they?
So you want to censor people then and stop their free speech because you don’t agree with them.

No. Those people are free to say they disagree with a speaker and not attend. They should not be allowed to force their views & beliefs on everyone else.

You are just trolling now because you lost the argument.

Protesting isn't forcing your opinion, it's also a protected right.

No. I’m asking you to explain what you think words you’re using mean.

Blocking an entrance or screaming over someone so they can’t be heard is though.

They'd be wrong though.
In which case, try telling that to the Twitter moderators who’ve banned / suspended several people for having the audacity to ‘mis-gender’ someone.

There are laws to deal with that.

Apologies if I've missed it but I don't think you answered my earlier question.

If a university invited a holocaust denier to speak and Jewish students protested peacefully and lawfully and the university listened to them and changed their mind and uninvited the holocaust denier what's wrong with that?

There's a lot of dishonest discussion in here and plenty of posters being deliberately obtuse. It's obvious to see. They know it and we know that they know it. A strange bickering dance.

To be expected as a coping mechanism I suppose. So used to having it all your own way and being backed up by big tech, it must be alien having an equal playing field again.

It's just a damn shame that all the damage done to society over the last 10 years can't be undone.

So you think any damage done has been by woke lefties on social media?

Deliberately misgendering someone is considered harrassment under protected characteristic laws iirc.

laugh you mean the last ten years of conservative rule here and concerted far right pressure on politics world wide largely based on social media presence? Who's really been doing the damage?
