We are of course, assuming that their thinking patterns are the same as ours, which they very much are not. Whether, they are male or female, they are likely to be very loud, low intelligence, addicted to social media, lack self reflection, therefore see nothing wrong in their lifestyle choices and behaviour.
To sum up, they think that wandering around their neighbourhood with a couple of giant, killer dogs makes people look up to them, a mixture of fear and admiration.
The reality is that most people see them as low life, dangerous scum.
Some may find this summary harsh, however pretty much every case that’s in the media reflects it.

How many of these incidents ever happen in a detached house in “leafy rural” Surrey. Don’t think I’ve seen one.

The majority have occurred on the peripheries of cities or areas of deprivation.

There’s a pattern with all of these cases

Another interesting fact is that if you do a search on bbc news for “xl bully”, 29 pages are returned.
There’s a significant number of attacks that don’t result in a death, which don’t even make the front page now.

I agree, I absolutely stand by what I said. On a personal basis, I don't know or have known anyone who owns dogs like this. I have seen people with dogs like this, but they are not the sort of people I would socialise with or even speak to.

There very much does seem to be a type of owner. The two local to me fit the stereotype. One is always dragging its owner along wherever it wants to go, guy looks like he is waterskiing behind it, by the looks of it to go collect his heroin. The other is owned by a shouty woman from the less nice estate about a mile away who is the sort to nip to the shops in her pyjamas. Seen hers escape its tether and go barking into the local Co-op while she was in there.

Around my area the owners are inevitably lads in their 20s wearing nasty grey tracksuits, it’s never Jill the ex budding retriever owner!

Weirdly, since the new muzzle laws I’ve seen a few scumbags proudly walking their non-XL bully (think fluffy tailed staffy cross)with a muzzle like a badge of honour. A muzzle is the new cool!!

If muzzles became cool, everyone’s a winner.

Especially as wrestling a muzzle onto a badly/untrained staffy is not unlikely to end up with the owner getting bitten.

Saw an XL earlier, clipped ears no muzzle. Looked like an XL anyway. Owner fitted the bill too. That's illegal now isn't it, but who's gonna police it.

I seem to recall there was an XL bully owners page somewhere. The owners looked exactly as you would expect…

She was dancing with her Bully to a song and saying, "I dont give a fk about the breed being banned".

To be fair the very last breed i would worry about putting a muzzle on would be a genuine staffy. I wouldn't like to try it with the best trained Jack Russell or Patterdale Terrier though biggrin

A decent fine, banned from keeping pets for life and 6 months in prison should do it.

"Catherine reported the incident to the police but decided not to support charges being brought by the authorities."

"I think the fact that we haven't heard anything from the police when they have all the evidence is a massive shame, especially since they're meant to be cracking down."

confused

Anyway, these dogs just need banning full stop.

Both off the lead, outside in public, one definitely had cropped ears, just what is it with the owners of these dogs.

This makes no sense to me. It doesn’t matter whether the victim supports a prosecution. It’s in the public interest to seek a prosecution, which should incorporate the dogs being PTS. There should be severe consequences for not abiding by the rules regarding XLs.
