And so it begins. Protesting against democracy by not accepting the democratic will of the country.

And people say that immigrants to France do not adopt the local culture.

Parties getting into unholy alliances to prevent another getting into power, or even a foothold into it, will not end well.

It might fend things off for a while, but eventually it will be very counterproductive.

.
Somewhat amusing that they are calling on centre-right voters to vote for Socialists, and even Communists, to keep the dreaded NR out.

Tactical voting usually involves some element of shared ideology. Like Lib Dems voting Labour or vice versa.

Problem with UK reporting is that everything that isn't Kier Starmer is "Far Right". Is this the same in France or are the Le Pen bunch actually "Far Right"?

Only a problem if it's misdescribed or you cannot accept a prevailing view.

I'm not suprised at the result, but at the same time I am.

What policies make them far right? It's hard to find English language things that talk about anything other than immigration.

Somehow managed to read this despite firewall.

I am not sure what "far right" means if this is it. Reducing pension age back down to 62 would more likely be considered a left wing policy.

The Netherlands have already shown how this will play out. A centre-left alliance will get together to ensure that the 33%never take office.

That will boost their anger even more for next time.

They have done a “good” job in rebranding and recasting the old party to make them more palatable to the electorate…

Likely to be very heavy on increased police powers and anti-immigration.

I don't know if you see something different but all I get from it is this which doesn't tell me very much

National Rally has said it wants reforms to be made to how the EU is run but does not want to leave the union. In addition it wants immigration to France to be much reduced.

You do realise that Wilders is forming the major part of the government replacing Rutte as a deal was agreed once Wilders accepted not being PM right?

Agreed - nothing is leaping out at me and it seems much in line with the things Reform are saying too.
