I'm not as informed as some on here so asking what is likely a previously answered question:
Is there a stated reason why the Dems don't want to drop Biden and get behind Kamala Harris as a nominee?
Seems the obvious solution to me and think she would wipe the floor with Trump but perhaps I've missed something obvious?
Yes, being a brown female. Unfortunately, even in this day and age. Much of the US is still very backward in this respect.I'm not as informed as some on here so asking what is likely a previously answered question:

Joe isn't squeaky clean on that front: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/31/us/politics/kam...Biden's personal physician is apparently involved in Biden family business schemes, with money being paid to Joe. It's a press release so will paste a few paragraphs here.
"Amid reports President Biden has “lost all independence,” on July 3, 2024, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated she spoke with Dr. O’Connor and that President Biden has not been evaluated since February of this year. Yet on a phone call with Democratic governors the same day, President Biden “told the assembled governors he was checked out by a doctor and that everything was fine.”"
"Recent evidence obtained by the Committee shows Dr. O’Connor’s and James Biden’s involvement with Americore Health, LLC, a company that operated rural hospitals and is currently involved in bankruptcy proceedings. James Biden, the President’s brother, used funds from Americore to pay Joe Biden $200,000 as the company was facing financial distress. James Biden received payments for $400,000 and $200,000, characterized as loans, from the company that were wired directly to his bank account “based upon representations that his last name, ‘Biden,’ could ‘open doors’ and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections.” During his transcribed interview, James Biden confirmed Dr. O’Connor provided him counsel in connection with the alleged work he was performing for Americore. "

The radio host involved in the "first black president" gaffe earlier this week, has been fired for using questions provided by president's team.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13608941/...
"The interview featured pre-determined questions provided by the White House, which violates our practice of remaining an independent media outlet accountable to our listeners."
Lawful-Sanders admitted the Biden team sent her eight prepared questions to ask the President – and that she used four of them.

Reagans was heartfelt as he did it without telepromters or notes.
It's utterly irrelevant, but presumably he was looking repeatedly at his notes because Nancy had drawn cocks and balls all over them rather than as a prompt like normal people?Beati Dogu said:
Some good news for Biden from Wisconsin though, which is normally thought of as a swing state and represents 10 electoral college votes. In 2020 Wisconsin went to Biden by less than 21,000 votes.
In 2022, the then conservative-leaning state supreme court banned many of drop boxes used for the likes of presidential elections. These are kerbside boxes, much like US mail boxes that allow people to post absentee ballots off. And like postal voting in general, there's little oversight on these, leading to the potential for "organisations" to dump stacks of pre-filled ballots for the candidate of their choice. With such a slim margin it's easy enough to put your finger on the scales the way you want it to.
The now liberal-leaning state supreme court has just overturned this ruling, and let's face it, there's only one reason you'd want to do that. In polling, Trump is showing 1-1.5% ahead, but I'd now expect Wisconsin to fall to Biden once again.

Biden is still obsessed with Trump being better at golf than him - https://x.com/alx/status/1810311306559234262?s=46&...

“Not” Trump supports desperately trying to find something bad about Biden.
Yawn. Yes we know they’re both old and not as bad each other.
Its not hard! I just put the news on and his latest screw up is usually in the top 5 stories. If you aren't concerned that the most powerful man in the world thought he was a black woman last week, you really should be. Yawn. Yes we know they’re both old and not as bad each other.
There is now zero defence when it comes to Biden, its plain for any die hard fan to see and impossible to deny. I imagine he will have to be forcibly removed. Like others have said, Trump doesn't even need to do anything now, he can just leave Joe to sink the ship all by himself.

I had avoided seeing any Biden v Trump debate clips when I heard how bad it was ........ until I saw a few bits on Gogglebox the other day. Oh dear ......... it was worse than I ever imagined.
He shouldn't run IMO.I imagine one of the many problems is if he says he won't stand that calls into question whether he is fit to be President now.

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell has called for allowing Joe Biden to have aides with him on stage to speak for him and help him sound coherent. - https://modernity.news/2024/07/08/msnbc-host-calls...

You might be right as it gives some people the excuse to say that. But I'm not sure it's logical, he could say he's perfectly capable now but that he doesn't think it's appropriate to continue for X years. A totally rational argument.
Yeah it would be easy to step aside. In an election year all the attention would shift to the new candidate anyway. This could go the same way at RBG. A gift to the GOP because the Dems aren't always strategic.

I think the big issue would be fundraising, right? If Biden runs obviously he has the money, if Kamala run I think(?) she gets the money but a new candidate would be starting from 0.
The above has most likely been said before, but the Dems have screwed themselves here haven’t they?
I think a lot of the money is pacs that can be used pretty freely? The above has most likely been said before, but the Dems have screwed themselves here haven’t they?
Quite a few have been hoping he could wing it. Increasingly obvious he can no longer do so.

The money reverts to the Demnocrat Party so they could presumably fund another candidate with that. The above has most likely been said before, but the Dems have screwed themselves here haven’t they?
I suspect the problem is getting KH to stand down amd then agreeing am alternative candidate.
