I'm not falling for anything, I didn't vote for him, I am just able to separate my dislike for his party and their antics, with someone making a speech leaving office. I believe he did what he, and his team thought best, and yes, it wasn't what was wanted. It's no deeper than that really.
of course you didnt vote for him, you couldnt, unless you live in his constituency ,Im not sure it makes much difference who is pm anyway, just vote for the best in your area, has always been my thinking, does the boss in downing street really make a difference to your day to day life, i think not so much, if we got rid of parliament and just kept local politicians, i bet nobody would notice for a while.
lets face it, they only have one pot of money, and tax will only ever go up, im in my 50s and never seen a meaningful tax cut ever.
i dont think the out going lot were deliberately bad, im sure they tried to do the best they could, as will the new lot.
here comes the new boss, same as the old boss.

It does make a difference who is in Downing Street. Always has. They set direction and national policy on the tiny things like tax, defence, health, education, foreign policy. Never mentioned it but with everything seemingly on the up and looking rosy perhaps he didn't feel the need amongst the triumphs he listed
Triumphs? Did that last more than 15 seconds? thetapeworm said:
You too could be Rishi's wife... or dress your own wife like her...
Given the occasion I think I'd have turned up in some £50k haute couture number just to wind people up.
Or a massive mink coat, fox fur scarf, white rhino leather shoes and a baby-seal pelt handbag with the seal's terrified face on it, topped off with the umbrella made from greater mouse-eared bat wings, sourced from one of the two remaining colonies in the UK. Well, there were two, now only one. Given the occasion I think I'd have turned up in some £50k haute couture number just to wind people up.
That would do the job.
Edited: Whilst the mods are annotaing Prime Minister threads with "ex-", can we have this one done as well please?
Whilst we all dislike politics and politicians in the main, it is an extremely hard and soul destroying business.
Seeing the shadow cabinet announcement yesterday makes you think of a pokey room with ghastly machine coffee in polystyrene cups, and the remaining survivors trying to console each other after all their friends have gone then agreeing who is left to take which job.
You can imagine them being kicked out at 5pm by a caretaker in a brown coat as he has to lock up for the night.

Someone mentioned RS was a good constituency MP when PM....how? Surely as PM he would be way too busy to attend his local area with any regularity
I would have thought that would be the same for all big hitters in Govt that have fulltime Ministerial jobs.
Geoff Hoon was my constituency MP when he was Minister of Defence. I asked a question (by letter) and didn't expect an answer because he was dealing with the Iraq War at the time. I had an answer within days, and a solution within weeks. Letters were signed by him. I assume that minions did the heavy lifting, but deligation is the art of management.I would have thought that would be the same for all big hitters in Govt that have fulltime Ministerial jobs.
