Over in Blackpool ( Labour Council) i see that a considerable sum of money has been spent on putting a cycle lane in for 1 hundred yards or so stretch of road.
This when many roads are completely battered
It's not just any old cycle lane it continues on from one that is contrary to the direction flow of the road.
This one is even better it is in the middle of a stretch of road that is one way and again is contrary to the flow of the road.
It is genuinely bizarre. The cyclist will be cycling against the flow of traffic right in the middle of the road
A council can and will plead poverty and spend frivolously.

Labour have already started. Hiking taxes for private schools and undermining apprenticeships to fund their new plans. It's standard Labour TBH, this is why most of their councils are fked already....
Councils are fked because funding has not kept pace with costs and the provision of adult and children’s social care has gone through the roof. It’s why ALL councils regardless of what rosette is running it is suffering.

Again it’s a central government caused issue that councils across the land are trying to grapple with.

It’s funny how everything comes back to our inept government isn’t it? But you carry on voting blue as you’re too frightened to do anything else…
Spot on.

So councils need to spend more money.

How much more are you willing to pay?

It’s not “spot on” at all. Perhaps have a look at Councils who have made reckless, stupid ‘investments’ and/or are now working four day weeks on full five day pay and pretending that services are unaffected and/or some of the spend on minority/woke projects that are really not affordable or justified even when the going is good not to mention Birmingham’s woes which are mostly self inflicted.

It’s not all central government’s fault. To think things at local level will improve with a change of government is just dull to say the least.

You can always change channels smile
Look at how the MSM fawn over Labour as it is!!! Imagine when they are in power... every MSM channel will be a Labour political party broadcast 24/7.
Well you can always stick to here. No MSM here.

The amount of Tory Copium in this thread could end the energy crisis if we could find a way to harness it.

Keir Starmer recently visited Leicester, where he was asked about the Labour-run city council’s fears of bankruptcy and the prospect of deep local cuts, and what he might do in response. His reply reflected that deep-seated belief that voters associate Labour with reckless profligacy, and so any calls to spend money had to be loudly resisted. “We’ll have to live within the constraints of an economy that’s been badly damaged in the last 14 years,” he said. “So I’m not going to make promises I can’t keep.”
He's good at not making promises.

You can't trust Labour to run the economy they always spend beyond their means.

You can't trust Labour to run the economy they won't spend money.

It is quite funny.

Jeremy Hunt will cut national insurance by 2p in his Budget
The Chancellor is reducing the work tax for the second time in less than six month in a move that will save an average employee around £900.

I guarantee Labour polls will still go up. The tories could add a zero and make everyone 9K better off, the polls will still go in Labours favour. I wonder why?

I’m not sure Tory supporters should be highlighting poor polling results…

Why not? Does it worry you that Labour support is not universal?

Who has claimed that it is?

Polls will show you that.

Perhaps a lot of the population detest what your beloved Tories have done to the country?

Sigh.

It’s not binary.
