This immunity ruling is IMHO a travesty. But it doesn't turn the President into a dictator who can do whatever he pleases; it does at least appear to limit its scope to areas under which the President already has power.
It does remove a lot of the checks and balances though, the power a President wields is enormous. He can't fire a Justice but he could have one assassinated and face no legal consequences. The motive for any action is no longer able to be investigated. Very little can be investigated.

Historically the court has been concerned about a President concentrating their power in creative ways - I have heard the Youngstown decision mentioned as an example of that. This decision completely overturns that approach.

Seems pretty certain that Biden's team are now just working out the best date to announce Biden is not going to run. Could they choose maybe the 4th July?

I know how much the other thread likes to mention the convicted felon part, thought I’d return the favour - childish I know.

Rather a hysterical way of putting it; the president has his son with him for moral support at a time when he's facing calls to step down as the democratic candidate, justified or not stepping down would be unprecedented.

I dunna think that word means what you think it means.

President Johnson stepped down in 1968, rather than run for reelection.
