Latest recording released of trump from his interviews with author Ramin Setoodeh

"It's all about one thing: ratings. If you have ratings, you can be the meanest, most horrible human being in the world. There's only one thing that matters: ratings. You can be nice, or you can be mean. You can be evil. You can be horrible. You can be crude or elegant. There's only one thing that matters, and that's ratings. If you don't have ratings, it doesn't matter."

Charitably you're arguing the toss because you can't think of anything better to do with your time; you started out with arguing that LF posted something they hadn't and you kept banging on every time thereafter. Do you just like having arguments?

WSC is not an insurrectionist nor is there a living former prime minister who has been accused of and charged with the offence of insurrection running interference for a statue of him or a park bearing his name. There is no parallel to be drawn.
When I think it's worth it, sure I'll argue - especially when accused of defending white supremacists.

Instead he allowed the deaths of over a million plus people due to blocking food from being shipped to them. Do you understand why some might regard that as just as bad as insurrection? That’s why there is a lot of hate from some for his statues and views they should be torn down. To just make it about a tiny aspect and ignore other massive ones that could get people very passionate and have similar views is again the sort of thing we should avoid.

It’s also odd that being in a protest about a statue where a bunch of people are racist makes you racist immediately. Some of the BLM protests had unfortunately violent rioters in them who went on looting sprees and so on. It doesn’t therefore mean all BLM marchers are therefore criminals and rioters. That’s the sort of thing the right wing nutters tried to insinuate - or say directly. It’s not, a protest can have many type of people involved, who may have very different agendas and reasons for marching. To say it makes them all the most extreme ‘x’ in the march is a bit strange.

That said, personally I would have left a march if I’d seen a lot of the disgusting white supremacist lots, same as if I saw a bunch of anarchists appear who sometimes take over protests in the UK and turn them bad.
Despite the “oooo look a squirrel” and some poor whataboutism I’ll have a go at answering this.

When you go to a rally organised by a bunch of white suprematists then you lose the moral high ground. If you go to a rally organised by a non-violent group and it turns violent, then you have some high ground if you weren’t involved directly in the violence.

The cult want trump as king

Organizer of the protest outside Facebook HQ in NYC today said that “trump would make a good king,” and his “children and children’s children” should inherit the throne after him.

The US literally had a war about this.

Images now of trump in crowns and regal robes

America won’t be (relatively) ‘safe’ until Trump is dead and buried.

Because if he loses this time, he will be there again in 4 years. It’s HIS party now.

He will only be about as old as Biden is now too. I bet he will live to 95 lot something like Rupert Murdoch has somehow managed to.

It’s not whataboutism to distract from the issue, it’s ’do people treat the opposite the same way?’. Many people these days would see someone marching to keep a Churchill statue in the same way as a lot of people would view a march to save one of the big South ‘heroes’. Both would view the people in the crowd as vile for supporting it, and nasty people.

I appreciate the second point, there IS a big difference in who organises it to me, that’s completely true. If it’s a White Boy organized march then IMO no excuse. If it’s a march where you have a lot of southern Americans viewing it as state versus union powers (which is a huge thing there) and some of people that come along are the racist crowd that is different IMO.

(And just to make it clear, the original comment from Trump I think WAS aimed at the racists, possibly not even because he agrees with everything they think, but because he doesn’t care what anyone does/thinks as long as they support him in his search for validation/love he never got and money he can make off them. That’s the main reasons Trump does stuff to me, he wants to be liked as he has such a think skin and wants as much money as possible.

trump is only paying legal fees of his co-conspirators who could testify against him. So interesting to note his PAC is now paying a Phoenix-based firm that represents Boris Epshteyn.

Still a problematic ruling, but it’s almost certainly helped Biden between distracting from the debate performance and is another example of overstepping boundaries by SCOTUS and hopefully will encourage votes against the party SCOTUS is part of.

I posted the original word for word transcript of the journalist and Trump at the start of this discussion. There is therefore no “think”, you check it and know exactly what was said and who it was aimed it or not. I agree that Trump is all about the money, but he always chases and gets the support of the racists. His comments about black voters give that away:

Well, it's not as if he's done a day's work in his life, and he'll have the best life preserving drugs and doctors money can buy. Here's hoping his cheeseburger diet catches up with him.

Poll is 5 months old and claims to only be women.

Maybe Quinnipiac have a more recent poll?
